Opinions Are Not Wrong (and That’s a Fact)

Opinions can also be based on incorrect facts, which does make them wrong.

The "it's an opinion" excuse, is often just that, an excuse to avoid criticism and discussion of one's opinion.

Exactly. When people trot out the "It's my opinion and it can't be wrong" line, 99% of the time they're just being lazy and/or can't defend whatever judgment they've thrown out there.

Everybody is entitled to his or her own opinion, but if you can't back it up with some kind of justification, I'm under no obligation to give your opinion any kind of respect.
