Is PS Vita TV Sony's Greatest Idea?

Cinelinx - "

Sony just announced the new gadget called PS Vita TV. This new gadget allows you to play Vita titles on your TV, stream PS4 to another TV, watch media apps, and all of this comes in a neat little compact design. The best part is, it only costs around $100 dollars. While Vita TV is seeing some mixed reactions after the announcement, I can’t help but say it was one of Sony’s absolute greatest ideas.

Looking at it from a very broad perspective, its already a win situation. Every other tech company is jumping into the living room game. They release these boxes that control the TV, and with it comes profit for them. Amazon, Google, Apple, they all have boxes. Hell you may have heard of the Roku box beating up cable lately. So what is Vita TV? It’s quite simply Sony’s answer to these. A cheap all-in-one (Sorry Xbox One) box that Sony is introducing to the casual users. The thing is, Vita TV has a massive advantage over all of those because of two things. One it has a collection of over a thousand titles right from the get go. What other digital box offers that many games you actually want to play? Two it can get “bigger” with other Sony products. If you own a Vita, the experience is grand, if you buy a PS4, the experience is mind blowing."

VTV is brilliant, but the Walkman and the PlayStation were clearly the greatest.

Good points! This is a huge step forward tho! Who the heck knew that you could do something so amazing with such a small piece of hardware!

The Playstation 1 was a pretty good Idea..

so i'll go with that better.

Honestly, I love the idea. The only reason I'd been wanting a Vita lately is because of a couple games and it's PS4 interactions. But if I can do the same thing for only $100, I'm completely sold!

I don't really need another handheld, I love my 3DS, so using this for a few Vita games here and there, plus being able to play my PS4 wirelessly on a second TV (in case my kid or girlfriend wants to use the other) is a perfect thing for me.

Trust me when I say that, when most gamers get hold of a PS Vita, they suddenly realize what a great device it is and how vast the game collection is.

But I guess the PS Vita is a head of its time and people can´t seem to realize it´s the best handheld gaming gadget ever made.

I agree with you, but I'm also in on the Vita and will be picking one up, maybe at the same time the Vita tv becomes available in America. The ability to game anywhere I want, whenever I want has me sold completely. I love the flexibility the ps4, vita, and vita tv will offer. Doesn't get better, and with the vita's recent price reduction, the prices are very reasonable to boot. What's not to like?

Sad day, hopefully they’ll allow a third party server solution. Goes to show game preservation is an uphill battle.

First the Helldivers launch and then this

Sony still can’t run online services/games.

Do you not get tired creating duplicate accounts...

It's super sad at this point
