It makes Mega Evolution sound so easy. Just have the pokemon with a hold item and you'r good to go? I assume if the move "knock off" is used and the Pokemon loses the item it reverts back to its standard form?

If so it seems knock off has some real value now :D

Not all Mega Pokemon Mega evolve through holding an item. Some with have other conditions.

Where did you get that information from? It's been confirmed that all Pokémon that Mega Evolve will need their variety of Mega Stone...

Lucario has the Lucarionite
Blaziken has the Blazikenite

=/

How do you get the Torchic?

Endless_X3903d ago

From a press release: "Players of the new titles will need to participate in a special limited-time Wi-Fi distribution event via Nintendo Network to get a Torchic holding a Blazikenite Mega Stone. This is how players can receive the Blazikenite Mega Stone when the new titles launch. The character distribution begins October 12th, the same day Pokémon X and Pokémon Y launches worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS"

If your in the UK you can go to a GAME store and simply connect to their wifi then access the mystery gift option on the menu.

Thats how its worked with previous events and I would assume it works the same way with pokemon X and Y.

I live in the UK and had to do this too, however, it is different this time. You don't have to go to a specific store etc. You just connect your 3DS to Wi-Fi and access Nintendo Direct. It's a lot easier now!

That might as well be Absol's evolved form.

ABizzel13903d ago

I agree. The concept is great, but the distribution is plain stupid.

Why not just evolve Absol, Mawile, Lucario, and give Ampharos (Electric / Dragon really) an alt. evo.

It should be reserved for 3rd stage pokes (Starters, type changes, things that really need it) and Legendaries only, everything else could evolve.

It's only visible for a split second, but you can see the DNA structure above their heads when they Megavolve (lol might as well call it Digivolve). Based on the summaries from the Genesect movie that came out, it seemed that Mewtwo could Megavolve because these unknown scientists were tampering with its DNA. For Pokémons like Mawile and Absol, maybe those forms ARE their one and only forms. Since they won't evolve any further, their DNA were reconstructed, allowing them to get temporary boosts. For Pokémons like Lucario, Blaziken, and Ampharos, they had pre-evolutions, but weren't enough to bring out their full potential. Maybe 25% of their power is still locked, and only messing around with their structures could unlock that last quarter. This explains MegaPokémons having their preferred stats boosted, some like Ampharos getting a new Dragon typing, and why they barely look any different from the non Mega form. All normal evolutions have their evos look noticeably different, while Megas just slightly change colors, gain new spikes and hair, etc. Maybe MegaMewtwo look vastly different from Mewtwo because it was created from Mew's DNA?

Making Pokémon 3D Was A Mistake

Pokémon’s shift to 3D was a big mistake, as the series’ roots in 2D design make it difficult to transfer important game mechanics into a 3D overworld.

why do other games pull off 3D monster collecting JRPG games just fine? Look at Jade Cocoon and Shin Megami Tensei for examples.

Answer should be obvious.

No other videogame franchise is as merchandise driven as Pokémon

Nintendo 3DS Games We Still Love Playing Even Today

BLG writes: "While it didn’t sell as well as the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo 3DS was nonetheless a wonderful system. And, while this may be a hot take, it’s easily my favorite handheld. Even more than a decade removed from launch, the system’s library has so many titles that feel as fresh today as they did back at release. While it was hard to narrow down, these 30 Nintendo 3DS games are emblematic of the system’s success."

When Will The Pokemon Company Introduce a New Typing?

The Pokemon Company has a solid thing going right now. Well, it’s been going on for a while, actually, but it has been a while since a new typing has been introduced to the popular monster-taming series. The latest one, Fairy type, was introduced back in Generation VI (Pokemon X & Y), so it does seem like it is time to bring in a new one. Check out Jason Capp's article for more.
