Edge:It only takes a couple of playthroughs for events to start recurring, and that severely diminishes The Yawhg’s spell, but it can’t take away the charm with which Carrol and Sommer’s game weaves together fairy tales.
Gary Hartley Writes: The kind of tainted fairy-tale spectacle The Yawhg promotes sadly fades all too soon, despite the whimsically strong writing and the playful art that often hints at a slightly darker edge. For all its subtle melancholy and inventive storytelling, there’s only a small window of time when all these things mesh together to create something special. After that, it’s more about rediscovery and rehashing in the futile hopes that relevance can be discovered by combining the old and worn.
A good RPG is really difficult to find these days. Can The Yawhg be counted among some of the greatest India RPG titles out there? Or is it another one of those games which no one will think about a few years down the road.
