Remembering Five of Gaming’s Greatest Villains

Behind almost every great game is a great villain. Sure, these villains almost always get ousted by the game’s protagonist – but often, it’s the villain that gets remembered long after the game gets turned off.

For as much as Sephiroth gets, Kefka blows him out of the water!

Kevlar0093920d ago

Other than being super powerful and a huge sword what makes him much better than say Kefka? Also this is 5 of the Greatest Villians, not THE greatest of all time.

I understand what you're saying, but sometimes it's nice to mix it up a little

Glad Suikoden made a splash in this list!

tacotruck3920d ago

Normally, I would say it's personal my personal bias considering that Suikoden II is my favorite game of all time, but there is no denying - Luca Blight is everything a villain should be.

FFVI is a timeless classic, surely one of the best games ever created.

_Decadent_Descent15d ago

I really do wish they'd give it the FF7R treatment.

phoenixwing15d ago

Ff6 is probably the most deserving for that

Cacabunga15d ago

Octopath traveller or Star Ocean remake treatment would fit it better i think

FinalFantasyFanatic15d ago

I'd rather it play more or less the same by have the 3D chibi graphics from Ever Crisis, I don't want them to change the story like they did with FF7R.

Wish they still made them like this, obviously with a graphic update.

Themba7615d ago

Earthbound Creator Says Nintendo Considered Mother 3 Translation, But It Was Complicated

IGN writes: Mother 3 is one of the most hotly-desired RPGs ever, having never received an official translation in North America despite the cult popularity of its predecessor, Earthbound. But over all these years, series creator Shigesato Itoi has never weighed in on the discussion - at least until now."

Zenzuu138d ago

They should remake Earthbound, and bring it to modern platforms.

meganick137d ago

A translated version of this game on Switch Online would be nice, and it would add a lot value to the Expansion Pak service.

jznrpg137d ago

Bring it already. Nintendo is frustrating at times

jjb1981137d ago

I would love to see an Earthbound game just redone with 3D-ish models and characters. Just having a remaster for Switch Online would be awesome!

FinalFantasyFanatic137d ago

Did you ever see the Earthbound 64 concept/materials? That actually looked really good, but I'd also take a HD-2D remake as well.

FinalFantasyFanatic137d ago

Nintendo seems very whimsical about what they give they're fans, sometimes they'll give them a bone (e.g. Mario RPG, Thousand Year Door for the Switch), and other times, they just give them little to nothing (agh, the Zelda anniversary).

Agent75137d ago

When you consider the cost of gaming back then and even now, no excuses when costs are involved.
