The Walking Dead: 400 Days Review – Short and Sweet I TheKoalition

Richard Bailey of TheKoalition writes:
Back in 2012, Telltale Games took the world by storm when they adapted Robert Kirkman’s critically acclaimed Walking Dead comic book series into an emotionally driven 5-part episodic point and click adventure. The Walking Dead was not only a true embodiment of Kirkman’s vision, but it had also succeeded in pushing the boundaries of sophisticated storytelling and impactful decision-making in video games.

After going on to win numerous Game of the Year awards at the tail end of 2012, the talented team over at Telltale decided to give the fans more Walking Dead content before the eventual release of season two. The Walking Dead: 400 days is the end result of this venture and by all accounts this DLC episode delivers a satisfying, yet brief glimpse into what’s ahead. Here are a few more reasons why this package is worth your time and your money.

A good episode overall but now I want Season 2. A lot of plot holes that still need to be filled as well.

Or is it "Too short but sweet"? I might wait and get a collection or find it on discount.

I'd say it's definitely worth picking up now although it might be on sale once season two comes out.

Can't complain about the brevity of the download when it was only 5 bucks. For 5 bucks it wasn't bad. It's just that the stories capture you and you really long for more.

I ended up with only 1 person going to the lady's camp. The crackhead lady who was sleeping with the old man. All my other characters didn't trust the new lady.

I think that when you make more selfish, cold decisions or dishonest behavior, that your character will be reluctant to trust the lady, whereas the honest and selfless decisions leave the character more trusting and accepting of the woman's offer to go to the survival camp.

You make some great points Spinal and you're right you def want more once you complete it. My only gripe was that I wanted to see how all 5 characters ended up together and the events that lead to other supporting characters getting killed.

As for the ending, Vince and Shel stayed behind and I figured that was because I chose to go with Danny and I killed Stephanie instead of bailing. What you said about the selfish decisions seems right but in those instances I was surprised with the end results.

All of those for only $12!? That is an insane deal. Reminds me of why I am going to build a gaming PC over the summer. I have nearly all of those games on PSN and they are great. Going to finally start Game of Thrones in a hour or two.
