"Annually, Activision makes a fine effort to relaunch Call of Duty, going further than ever before with each installment. Call of Duty Black Ops was an excellent effort, and Black Ops 2 seeks to exceed that game in virtually every fashion. While the multiplayer is certainly the best the series has to offer, the single player campaign finds itself with poor footing, lost in a new setting in a new time period, and exceeded by its predecessor. We are left, then, with a series making its inexorable march toward multiplayer focus, with single player that, for the first time in the series, isn’t really worth playing on its own."
