10 Video Game Bosses That Totally Sucked

WC: Don’t you hate it when you’re playing a great game, and then you get to one of those soul-crushing points that just doesn’t make you want to keep going? We’re talking about terrible boss fights, boss fights that aren’t necessarily difficult or annoying, but simply lack invention in an otherwise inventive game; it’s as though the developers got to a certain point and got tired, so thought, “That’ll do”, resorting to the most base solution possible. It’s all the more troubling when it isn’t even the final boss in the game, and then the quality picks up again afterwards, making for an inconsistent experience. For the large part, though, these picks are the last bosses of the game, suggesting that the developers simply got a little tired near the end of production, and thought players had enjoyed themselves enough up to this point, that they won’t care too much about a craptacular final fight.

Here are 10 video game bosses that totally sucked.

especially that Yevon Boss fight!!! I mean, infinite auto-life, WTF?

roadkillers4167d ago

I actually liked that battle. It gave me a cool down after finally beating Sin. That was a great moment.

Nerdmaster4167d ago

As much as I love FFX, the fight against Yevon was really bad. For me, "Sin" (to avoid spoilers) is the last boss.

Sparing others another 10 pages of loading to see a pic and a paragraph from a site that said Liam Neeson sucked in the Taken movies, here's the list.

The Terminator - Mass Effect 2
Top Man - Mega Man 3
Trevelyan – Goldeneye
Jen – Prey
Ganondorf – Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Giga-Joker – Batman: Arkham Asylum
Supercomputer – Metal Gear
Every Boss In The Damn Game – Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Yu-Yevon – Final Fantasy X
Nihilanth – Half-Life

You're welcome.

I liked the giga Joker a little bit...

Yeah yevon was a waste compared to previous fights like Ultemica (ff8) and necron (ff9) I was expecting my first ps2 fantasy final boss to be really hard.

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

Maybe it is time to just let Goldeneye go. People keep e-begging for this game and it came back in various iterations; remastered and original and in the end it was just meh. The game was a product of its time like Perfect Dark and Timesplitters.

It's from a bygone era that was good at the time but is pants now. Same with turok.

NotoriousWhiz37d ago

Whoa whoa whoa. Turok still holds up great.

YourMommySpoils38d ago

Isn't that like considering every other game too.

P_Bomb37d ago

When in doubt, port it out.

jznrpg37d ago

The game was a lot of fun for its time but damn that was a long time ago.
