10 Role Playing Games To Look Forward To In 2013

"There's a small group of people who claim that the role playing game as we know it is dying out. It's a difficult concept to swallow, but there are plenty who support such a notion. Even if you think the RPG still has plenty more to give, there's no doubt that its significance as a genre has decreased rapidly since the 32-bit generation. Though it may be a form that is currently in decline, that doesn't mean next year will be lacking in the role playing department."

Lol Final Fantasy Versus XIII is in the list, We know it's never coming out! It's been over 6 years now (in development for 7).

fermcr4210d ago

Final Fantasy Versus 13 in 2013? ... LOL.
With Final Fantasy 13: Lightning Returns already announced for 2013, who expects Final Fantasy Versus 13 for 2013?

As for the list... it's a OK list. There are still to many RPG's to be announced for 2013. Maybe Fallout 4 ?

Thanks Thorstein! I'm glad to see more and more commenter saving us the bother of clicking on these miserable websites.

Personally 2013 looks kind of meh - especially compared to 2012 or 2011. The only RPG I'm actually excited about in 2013 is Grim Dawn, which isn't even on this list.

Duke Nukem Forever was in development hell for over a decade and still came out. Granted, it was complete shit, but still, it was finally released.

Godmars2904210d ago

I'm done giving multiple hits to sites w/top ten lists.

blue_cheese4210d ago

yeah i dont even bother anymore, if its not all on one page ill pass, not because im lazy. but just because all the info could have easily fit on one page.

Godmars2904210d ago

I could see/forgive using four: breaking it up into 3 selections per page with #1 getting its own special place, how such could be used to to generate suspense, but this 1-1 is clearly and only exploitative.

knifefight4210d ago

That's exactly why I reported this stupid crap, but it got punched through anyway. -_-

If you click the little gear and select "Info," you can see the reports on the story. Didn't matter, though. People lap up these top 10's, and Gamingbolt knows how to capitalize on half-assed speculation.

Whatculture is the worst about this. Every article.

knifefight4209d ago

Yeah, I've made it a point to never click whatculture. That place should be called whatclass.

Yui_Suzumiya4210d ago

Dragon Age III and Final Fantasy Versus XIII are the only two I'm looking ahead to on this list.

upallnightgamer4210d ago

And Tales of Xillia. I love the Tales franchise and am still pissed that we didn't get the PS3 Vesperia.

amaguli4210d ago

I hate it when it's one game per page. Screw it, here is their list so you don't have to suffer:
1. Divinity: Original Sin
2. Ni No Kuni
3. The Elder Scrolls Online
4. Dota 2
5. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
6. Tales of Xillia
7. Final Fantasy Versus XIII
8. Young Justice: Legacy
9. The Dark Eye: Demonicon
10. Dragon Age 3: Inquisition

M_Prime4210d ago (Edited 4210d ago )

thanks, too bad i already went through the list lol..

only one i really really want to play is Dragon Age 3

I played 2 and now am about to start 1+Origins (i know i did it backwards)

KaBaW4210d ago

You should hit me up with which one you like better; DA1 or DA2.
I much preferred Dragon Age 1, in fact I didn't even finish DA2.
I just much preferred the play style and mechanics of DA1.

TheLyonKing4210d ago

Everyone on different page, will pass on giving this site hits.

Biggest pet hate on the Internet, well one of them.

I am looking forward to Ni No Kuni and if we are very lucky FF VS 13

Something about recreating old school graphics in an era of HD high poly photo realism just hits a spot. I'm not nostalgic cause I mostly played GameCube and GB/A, but it's a visual style that gets over looked even by indies.
