15 Games that look epic in black and white

Darryl Linington from ITF Gaming writes: The world is a colourful and vibrant place, which in turn means that the various worlds featured in video games are equally vibrant and colourful. However, what if we did in actual fact see in black and white, or television never took the giant leap forward into colour back in the 1950’s?

Truthfully, we would not know the wiser if the technology never branched out into colour, which means that while typing out this opinion piece my screen would indeed be black and white right now. This is why we have decided to come up with a list of games that would actually look pretty epic even if they were developed and designed in black and white only.

this article reminded me of how i used to change the color settings on my TV to B&W last gen with my PS2. It was almost like a new experience playing that was and added a bit a replay value my old games

Kinda one the reasons why I wrote this.

Nice screen shots, I really like the Rage one, did you just monochrome them or did you adjust brightness & contrast at all?

ITFGaming4241d ago

Popped the game in, dropped the colour and adjusted in a photoshop to depict what I was seeing on screen. I could of shot the screens with a Canon 500D, but would have taken forever to get all the screens done.

Anybody try Max Payne 3 in noir mode? I haven't done it yet, but would like to know people's thoughts...

I was kinda expecting Limbo to be on the list...

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil3d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai3d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle2d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa2d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal2d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.

Do they explain in the video why there are two numbers 3? Starfield and Tears of the Kingdom?

It's always refreshing to see games embracing the streaming community.
