The Best and Worst of 2012 Kinect Games

4Player-"It was a year of laughter, tears and shame as I exposed myself to the best and worst games for the Kinect. While my Friday nights had devolved into wearing depraved costumes, inebriation and yelling at the TV, I found some real gems for games using a peripheral people all have but discounted. There were many surprises, both good and bad, that actually made the time, and lost brain cells, worth the effort. Without further adieu, I present to you the best and worst games to come out for the Kinect in 2012."

When you have kids & Kinect their is no such thing as a bad game, just endless family fun . JMO

mcstorm4095d ago

I have to agree its just like the Wii WiiU and PS Move. Also fun when you have friends round with a few drinks down you.

The year of 2012 was not a good year for the Kinect. Nearly every game that relied on the Kinect for controls failed miserably. Dragonball Z Kinect, Kinect Star Wars, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, and Fable: The Journey were all failures last year. After Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, many critics and gamers called it quits on the Kinect. I don't know what Microsoft will be planning next, but they have to do one of two things with the Kinect: 1) Fix up the Kinect so that it actually works or 2) jump ship while you still can.

Used to love this one, but X-Men Legends 1 and 2 will always be my favorites, especially Rise of Apocalypse. Would pay some good money to play it today with online multiplayer, back then I had no way to get a modem

I remember buying them dirt cheap on the PS4 and then a few days later I read they were delisted. I was wondering why the bundle was price so low and got my answer when that happened.

Sad to say this is one game franchise next to the Xmen that needs a sequel. I use to play the hell out of Xmen Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Was great when my cousin had the OG Xbox play with four other people and then playing online. Great games glad to see it reappear even though I own the discs love the mechanics of this game.

Terry_B1h ago

It got a sequel..but for dumbass #reasons as a switch exclusive.

shinoff21831h ago

It looked so horrible to. They should've kept it similar to the first two.

Asplundh58m ago

Because Nintendo funded it, they did the same for Bayonetta.

Knightofelemia40m ago

I totally forgot about the Switch sequel.

jukins1h ago

Misleading. This page is whats available for people who owned the game prior to delisting.

The first game was the best imo.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil4d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai3d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing693d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle3d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal3d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa3d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal3d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
