Youtube uploaders have been finding that many of their Shining Force 3 videos have come under attack over the last several days and it has lead to many videos being taken down for copyright infringement by a mysterious plaintiff who seems to be in some way associated with SEGA. Many of the videos being taken down are non-profit fan videos that are merely promoting the series, but they are still be taken down. Even Total Biscuit has had several of his Shining Force 3 videos pulled for infringement, but while he has no real worries about losing his videos others have had their entire channels suspended.
SEGA has announced Fearless: Year of Shadow, a campaign that celebrates Sonic the Hedgehog and his brooding acquaintance, Shadow.
GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Relic is best known for the Company of Heroes and Dawn of War games, and recently developed the new Age of Empires for Microsoft. Relic will transition to an independent studio and will no-longer be part of the Sega group of studios.
The majority of the 240 job cuts are across Creative Assembly and Sega Europe, while there will be a ‘small number’ cut from Sega HARDLight. There was no mention of other Sega UK studios, including Two Point Studios and Sports Interactive."
Sega had such a turbulent existence from the mid-90s to when they dropped out of console manufacturing entirely in 2001, it’s understandable if you’ve never heard of the Genesis Nomad.
Wow. Sega really doesn't like non-Japanese Shining Force fans, do they? Anyway, Sega may be a grudge against the old Shining games, because so many people consider them to be leagues better than the new crap Shining Force games, right?
