IDK, I honestly think that Demon's Souls and Dark Souls' multi-players would have been MUCH better if they were done in a more traditional manner. They were good for sure, and different. But I think they would have been better if you could just join up with other people and your friends like any other co-op game.

My personal favorite's this gen are

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Sacred 2 Fallen Angel
Killzone 2/3
Castle Crashers
X-Men/The Simpsons Arcade games (SO happy they were finally released on consoles)
Gran Turismo 5
Honorable mentions to Ghostbusters The Video Game and PlayStation Home

I partially agree. I do think it would of been nice if it was easier to play with friends, BUT I also think it was fine the way it was because it added the element of risk and dread that the game excels at. What i mean is, everything in Dark Souls has an element of risk and especially the co-op. Because if you want help to make the game that bit more easier you then also have to leave yourself open to invasions, thats the price. Also the fact that you cant easily hook up to friends add to that gamble, are you going to get a great player to help you or a complete tool? These are the things that made the Souls games so immersive.

The fact that it wasnt traditional and like every other game is also why its my favorite mp game this gen. Because games this gen have a serious problem of jumping on bandwagons and lacking originality and creativity.

Warhawk

Not a popular choice, but its where I had the most fun this generation.

I missed out on the Warhawk, but most of my friends- and coworkers- who worked at GameStop were in on it, and all they had were incredible stories about insane kills and such.

That came back with Killzone 2, which I DID manage to get in on(and proceed to DESTROY). For me, that and BC2 were my favorite multiplayer experiences this generation.
