I am pretty sure Cole was a given, along with the likes of Drake, Jak and Ratchet.
i think the original reveal of characters was to show that they would be supporting popular choices (Kratos) along with more niche choices (Fat Princess) and golden oldies (PaRappa).
I personally think that E3 will be about many 3rd party support. With characters like Drake and Cole being revealed slowly post-E3 and pre-launch.
I'm really hoping this game turns out well. Smash Bros died the minute the wiimote was invented. The super slick controls of Melee turned into sluggish, unresponsive controls in brawl. Not to mention that lack of a hardware upgrade from GC to wii meant that that game itself did not upgrade. They actually had to take out characters that were loved in melee because of it.
Sony will give is the sequel to melee that we truly deserve.
I hope it looks like Cole from Infamous 1, not 2. 1's character model looked so much better. I'm not even joking when I say the change to Cole is one of the reasons I haven't played Infamous 2 yet.
I was being a bit unfair there, but I meant the art direction of the character. In 1, Cole looked pretty bad ass, like an actually comic book hero who I really enjoyed playing.
The new Cole just doesn't do it for me. He lost his edge. He makes me think of some high school drop out. The voice is good, the graphics are improved and he has more powers but the shape of that head and the look on his face, gets me every time. Just look at that thumbnail :P He looks like and extra from The Bill.
Exactly cole is a no brainer aswell as Drake . Im hoping for guest star characters I really want the Joker in it he would be a character I wouldnt minds spending cash on as a DLC character besides who doesnt like the Joker? That and he would be amazingly fun to play with.
Please.... Just stop asking for DLC and maybe the developers will just add him in there as an unlockable character after finishing the game or something?! Damn I can't stand people just begging to get ripped off!
Preemptive DLC section in a fan made GTA main menu. Crazy how DLC, usually bad DLC, has become the norm this gen with gamers even asking for it months before a game has finished development.
I mean this was obvious right? How could they leave Cole out. Anyway I can see Evil and Good powers being his normal moves and Nix and Kuo could be super moves. Also The Beast could be fighting something else in the background besides Bertrand since the stages are usually a mix. If the Wanderer from SOTC becomes a character The beast could fight a Colossus. Or if you really want to be crazy like with Patapon and Hades you could match up the Beast against the Nymphs from Rayman.

@ TheDivine.Yeah, I think the Journey person has more then enough elemental wind power to blow enemies away and he/she could easily send them flying with a twirling dance attack.
I hope it also has iconic 3rd party characters. It wouldnt be complete without Cloud, Snake (although he's already in SSB), Dante exc. Characters which arent ps characters but ones i associate with ps consoles. All the 1st party characters are a given. It will have all the favorites unless they save some for dlc. I hope not though, in something like this extra characters should be unlockable not for sale.
I really hope it has the knight from Demons Souls and dude from Journey. Sony does have a rich catalog of peeps to beat up.
To me, that seems like it should be a given. There are so many characters like that. It's amazing how many characters you associate with the Playstation brand, even when they're not owned by Sony.
Yes it is amazing. I love Sony and they have done more for gaming in less than 20 years than all others combined. I could never play games on anything else and if Sony was to ever stop making gaming hardware I would quit gaming. When I reach 16 I am going to ask my parents if I can get a tattoo that says I Love Sony.
one of the developers mentioned they are working with 3rd party studios for some games of the games that defined ps in the past. he didnt reveal name but it was a strong indication that there will be 3rd party support!
here are some of my ideas that i think would be a cool stage scenario and combining game environments.
well a great idea i think would be to have a silent hill hellish school playground which gets transformed into a gorgeous flower landscape with the more petals collected. bent and scew see saws get fixed and repainted with beautiful flowers as the evil of silent hill fades! guests for the level could include pyramid head or crazy nurse maria making lunges at you and when the whole stage is reborn into beauty it will be hazard free essentially allowing the remainding players to battle it out without distractions
and good combination me thinks would be infamous 2 new orlean balconies, then the reapers come and rocket the hell out of the scenery which crashes into the underground subway which would be the moving train of uncharted 2. so a multi part level essentially.guests for the level could include the beast of new morais, courier pigeons throwing in powerups/items, eddy navarro, lazarevich
madisons appartment could be based in germany and when you break out of it you fall into the tarmac of the legendary nurburgring followed by hazardous supercars speeding around the track at various speeds. guests could include the origami killer, jasooooon and of course clowns with balloons!! Not surprising but very exciting. He's a natural fit for that kind of game.
Me? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some more third-party characters. I can think of a few Valkyria Chronicles and Persona characters that would be fun to play as. Or maybe a generic character from Monster Hunter.
This game will be big in many ways. One way that came to my mind was the fact that the success of Super Smash brothers alone will draw attention. But then once people start playing it, they will wonder what games some of these characters are coming from, thus adding more sales to Playstation Exclusive titles. (because believe it or not a lot of people aren't aware of how many great exclusives there are)
Not just that, this could be the beginning of whole new series for any character in it. Just imagine a whole new Parapper the Rapper game or more Jak and Daxter or if they add in Sir Dan another Medevil game or Fat Princess 2. PASBR could be the launching pad back to PlayStation roots and for sequels

Um... OK? I can't tell if you're trolling or not. Cole has never been a confirmed character (or even hinted character), and his voice actor just let slip that he's coming back - BEFORE any official announcement by SuperBot. If you don't want News, I don't think this is the right site for you.
I wonder if Eric Ladin is being used to do the mocap for Cole just for his moveset or could it be the fact that Cole will have a big role in the PS All Star Story mode. Either way can't wait.
