@above: Maybe it's because the Vita is a pretty capable system in terms of it's hardware. It also has dual analog sticks, which is needed for a good FPS game, if the system does not have mouse support. It's also possible that he likes previous CoD games, and knows the one on the Vita will be just as good as their console counterparts.
I'm definitely not trying to throw any hate towards a CoD vita title. I'm simply stating that, even with excellent hardware, great controls, and the high success of the said franchise with the backing of a well-known developer or publisher, there is never a guarantee that the game itself will be "amazing," though I do express certain optimism for this particular title.
Edit: I honestly don't know why I'm getting so many disagrees for my comments here. Oh, well. :/
Considering the hatred COD gets, it's surprising to suddenly see people think a VITA version will be so great.
I don't see Activision making a wholly original VITA COD game, I do hope I'm wrong but I fear that they will make a standard Black Ops 2 port with cross play at best.
VITA really needs a heavy hitter third party title like COD real bad for sales, but whether or not Activision takes the burden seriously or whether they see it as a cash-in opportunity remains to be seen.
I totally agree with you there. CoD4:MW was the pinnacle of fast-paced shooter action with next-gen spectacle and a competent plot. Thoroughly enjoyable, until its sequels ran the formula into the ground.
I'm not a fan of these types of games but hopefully there will be bot support for this type of game. Now Bioshock is a game that I am really looking forward too and hopefully this E3 they will show something from it.
Likewise, but the real shooter I hope to see for Vita is Killzone. We haven't seen any gameplay for that in a really long time, hopefully it turns out pretty good.
Oh and hopefully we see some soul sacrifice. Vita needs a good rpg!
Well... portable COD games for both PSP and DS never sold really well so I don't think it will be a system seller, but it's probably going to be an amazing game on Vita.
We'll see - the Vita can handle PS3-level graphics (especially CoD quality), so direct port of Black Ops that PS3 and Vita gamers can play online against each other is possible. That sounds like a system-seller to me.
Good news for Vita fans Though it would also be safe to say, that the 3DS might get its own iteration of a COD title (classic controller pro supported, and maybe they'll add Gyro sensing aiming, a la Resident Evil Revelations).
How's COD in 3D, anyways? (isn't the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, 3D supported?).
The best I can say is that 3D adds a lot to aiming-down-sight - It really does feel like you're looking down the physical barrel of a gun. Other than that, 3D doesn't mesh well with the bright color contrast of Black Ops.
Gyro sensing aiming on 3DS doesn't work for me. Tilting the system messes up the 3D and gives me a headache from trying to refocus on the 3D all the time. Gyro sensing does work for me on the Vita in Uncharted Golden Abyss tho, since it didn't have the 3D novelty.
I'd love to have an Elder Scrolls game too. The touch controls can add so much to RPGs. Imagine touch screen based inventory systems and picking up/dragging around objects with the touch screen. No brainer really. The inventory system in Skyrim with the controller was a pain to use.

The CoD game on psp was a WW2 shooter, and had awful controls and bad graphics. of course it didnt sell well.
It'll probably be a cop, paste job for the Vita too.
But im willing to bet that the "haters" will put aside their differences just because this is coming to the vita.
Lets watch....
