All good tips, but I think luck has *something* to do with it, even if people might not want to admit it.

I mean, you could be the best damn writer on Earth but it doesn't mean you'll automatically get noticed AND get noticed by someone who can give you a job.

There are enough gaming "journalists". Every Tom, Dick, and Harry has a website, all rehashing the same information and giving their opinions that most don't bother reading.

Also, I'm tired of all the offbeat site names out there. Just look at some of the articles on N4G and you'll see such gems as livingwithanerd.com, gamesta.com, thumb-culture.com, unlimitedammo.com, xbigygames.com, nerd4sure.com, chronogamers.com, nightmaremode.net and hundreds of others. If you want to write gaming articles, join an established site.

Although, I'm not for low quality sites, I do want unestablishments sites that grow and become established sites.

I want quality variety... not the same old rehash.
