Perhaps they're aiming to release it as a launchtitle... ... for when the next-gen consoles hit the market, presumably late this year or early next year!?
I don't think they will make it a launchtitle for nex gen , they will sell a lot more on the current gen then on the releas of the next gen ,That would be stupid of them.
Maybe just for the WII U because it will launche first. and they do the same as they did with tomb raider Legend they released on the ps2/xbox/GC.and and later for the 360 which launched first .
I hope not. I mean theres still a good 3/4ths of a year before this game is out. Why delay so early in the year if its not out until the end of the year anyway?
Honestly though I wish I could say otherwise I find this to be quite plausible.
Think about it what is the one thing you can count on Square-Enix to do with their videogames?
Delay Them!
Sadly without a single exception in the last few years any game they haven't delayed the release of ends of being god awful. Square used to be one of my favorite video game publishers. Squeenix? not so much. :(
What is more likely to happen though is a double release. Say not so hypothetically Xbox720? PS4? release fall 2013? They can re-release a game of the year style game with updated (Graphics, reworked missions, improved controls)
Hopefully we won't be looking at a deliberately above average game so they can "improve" it for the next batch of consoles.
Gotta be a stupid rumour. When this was first announced they said 'Fall 2011'. Then at E3 they said 'Fall 2012'. Now everywhere I look I'm reading Q3 or September 2012. No way in hell I'd believe 2013.
we need more good adventures like this, looks really promising

Would probably be a christmas 2012 release.

That would suck. :(
