No the article right. It is COD. I think BO sold over 20 million copies. The last time i check, a battlefield game never sold that much so based on those sales. COD would be the franchise that roll off people tongue and wallets.
I agree. Increasing popularity has shot COD into infamy. "13.7 million copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops had been sold in the United States alone" "Within 24 hours of its release, Black Ops had sold a combined total of 5.6 million units in the US and UK market"(wiki)
Battlefield has its own fans but it not at the same level as COD. The average gamer would say COD, Hey I would say COD first (didn't buy BO). Its popularity is very high. Call of duty as a brand has sold 55 million units by Nov 2009.
Battlefield is popular but this popularity hasn't really shot across the gaming community until now (I agree BF2 is popular but 2.25million in a year is just not on the same level)
BF 1942
BF Vietnam
BF2
BF 2142
BF Bad Company
BF Bad Company 2
BF BC2 Vietnam
BF Heroes
BF Play 4 Free
BF3
oh and Call of Duty!

Wargames are tabletop strategy games. Battlefield and plays nothing like War and Peace, actually.
