Mixed Martial Arts or MMA is all the rage these days; with UFC, StrikeForce, Bellator leagues dominating the combat sport airwaves.
What most people don’t realize is that there have been a large number of MMA video games released in the past two decades before the sport became as big as it is today.
I feel I should explain my issue with Yuke's
Personally I wanted a 2d fighter, considering AEW been doing promotions with Capcom i thought we'd see a 2D fighter featuring AEW Wrestlers and Street Fighter, whether it's classic side scroller or vs. I'm fed up typical wrestling games, I'd like to see something different. The pro to all this is that they have the original director from No Mercy. Just have to wait and see but I'm not getting my hopes up. At least we have AEW, cos damn WWE sucks atm
I feel like you shouldn't. The game is super early in development and will be using next-now-current gen hardware with fresh insight on today's product. Shut up and give the game a chance.
I'm optimistic for the AEW game. Kenny Omega is a legit gamer, he played a lot of Street Fighter while he was busy putting on classic matches in New Japan. He was training/sparring in Street Fighter with some of the best players in the world - like Infiltration and Poongko for example - during his time off!
Thankfully I got Fire Pro Wrestling World to keep me going for years to come.
AEW’s new video game might be the wrestling games fans have been asking for decades.
The director of No Mercy and Def Jam games is involved, which explains the style of graphics. Exactly what I was hoping for. However this was an in engine CGI trailer. With Yukes, Iwashita from AKI, and Kenny Omega creating this game, all wrestling fans should be hype for this. This is the one we've been waiting 20 years for people.
I agree. The lack of actual gameplay and information has me worried. I'd love a re-release of no mercy
I didn't even have to see the yukes logo to know its them. The hair physics lets you know its them. Idc about that tho, just give me something like no mercy and I'll be happy

"I think freeing is the first feeling that you get," Jinks explained to GameSpot. "When you realize that now that all the ideas that you had and wanted to pursue are now at your fingertips, that's the first feeling you have."
Lol! I don't think the freedom that's soon to come is the kind he had in mind.
I would never be pround of the work done, releasing a game in this state to our fanbase... Somebody had to step up and tell 2k... look, we should delay or skip this year, we need time. The release of 2k20 hurts the franchise more than anything.
2k probably did wanted to delayed it but wwe probably said no put the game out anyway
No doubt people did speak up, then were immediately shot down. They have deadline to meet & contractual obligations to follow, that's more immediately important than their customer reputation.
ha and that is why my wallet is closed for this one. The fact they would sell an unfinished product as a full product. I will never purchase this game with my hard earned money ever again. I will pay for a product that is actually the finished thing.

Prince 2k wanted the delay wwe didn't that's a fact and 2k is juts as much at fault but enough blame to go around

I don't envy these developers. Picking up someone else's scraps then having those dead lines & picking up the heat for releasing an unfinished game against their ideals.
I'd blame the people who insist on the ridiculous deadlines and the annual cycle. If you're going to release something annually, you're going to have invest more in the team to keep up & same it an increment worth customers investing in to.
Good point, if the game looks unfinished stop trying to enforce a yearly deadline.

Yeah FPW is wrestling whuich yu could techncially say has MMA elements in it, but i still think an article like this is premature. Top 5 MMA games when there has probably been 10 total is like doing a top 5 Barbie
