IGN's Colin Moriarty writes;
For better or for worse, it's always nice to see a developer try something truly different. El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is one such attempt. It's a third-person, story-driven action game that depends upon a unique setting and an interesting graphical flair to grab the gamer and pull him or her into the experience. The thing is , El Shaddai is one of those attempts gone wrong, a game that simply doesn't come together despite everything it throws out there. It's more pretentious and muddled than fun and coherent, which effectively ruins its high potential.
Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.
Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.
Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster is launching on April 28 for Nintendo Switch.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron HD Remaster is finally coming to Nintendo Switch, physically and digitally. However, there's a catch.
That's how I felt about it after playing the demo. It got lots of hype for its art direction, but the game itself felt pretty crappy.
Lol IGN fails again. The Demo gameplay was sublime.
That's the first negative review of the game I've happened upon. It's alright though, 'cos it's IGN and theirs is hardly an opinion I respect. Even Edge - who are tough to please - gave it an 8.
Incidentally, this is the first game I've imported for my PS3. Couldn't wait 'til September; I simply must have this gorgeous looking game now.
PSM gave this a 9 in the August issue and was game of the month (just thought to give it a mention even though alot of disregard their scores.) I'm pissed that this is released so close to No More Heroes Paradise so Ill have to miss out in purchasing NMH until next pay day but I know its worth it.
5 is way too harsh of a score for this game though.
course ign would give it a 5 its good and its not call of duty, and has one of the best art styles so clearly its horrible lol stupid ign
