Agreed, it could be absolutely beautiful if done now.
They'd still have to sort out the gameplay flaws. Its a shame it didn't have longer to cook really. As a concept it could have been a real hallmark title it's execution was just a mess.
It tried so hard to be epic and compelling and fell flat on it's face. (though I know a lot of people genuinely did seem to enjoy it, so that's something I suppose)
* Lair ran at 1080p, when 720p is fine. They could have fixed this back in the day.
* Lair used QAA, when MLAA is a cheaper, better solution these days.
* The PS3 OS is about 30MB smaller than it was when Lair was released. 30MB is a huge quantity on a console.
* Middleware, like Havok, has now evolved to make tremendous use the the SPUs, whereas Lair didn't get to enjoy said benefits.
