Since The Contra Revival Shows Konami Still Cares, How About A New Castlevania?

Hanzala from eXputer: "Contra: Operation Galuga is a classic revival done right, but why hasn't Konami done the same yet for the bigger and more popular Castlevania?"

shinoff218320d ago

Slowdown. Let them get these suikoden games done first. Alot of us are still waiting for those

XiNatsuDragnel20d ago

Castlevania fighting game for wii needs to be remade plz

Aphrodia19d ago

well, the new C ontra was made by Wayforward, who have been taking sooooo many of these classic franchises and making new iterations of them. Imo they aren't very good at it. And I don't see operation galuga being a large enough success to possibly give them Castlevania.

Saber Interactive CEO Says KOTOR Remake Is 'Alive and Well'

IGN:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is one of gaming's most elusive projects. But we finally have a real, concrete update on what's going on.

Saber Interactive is still working on it, and according to the CEO, it's "alive and well."

CobraKai21d ago

It was announced in 2021 and there hasn’t been so much as a screen shot. Hopefully it is alive but i dunno if it’s actually well

Eonjay20d ago

I'm just happy this game didn't die in the deadly Embrace like so many others.

CrimsonWing6921d ago

I’ll believe it when I see it.

SimpleSlave21d ago

As long as it's not AssPyre doing this, there's still some hope.

*Takes a look at the games Saber Interactive have developed...

Oh, fu...

Tody_ZA20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

What's the point of this comment from the CEO without a screenshot of the game in progress or announcement of a trailer? It's been a long time since the announcement and absolutely nothing to show for it which is not a good sign.

I was beyond hyped when this was announced, but I've long accepted the reality that it's not going to happen, unless something concrete is shown.

Compare this to Delta Snake Eater which has more than shown its existence off.

KwietStorm_BLM20d ago

Showing a screenshot doesn't prove or disprove it's development status. With everything that's happened with Aspyr, the last thing they want to do right now is show a product that isn't ready for public viewing. The reason the CEO spoke up is because of the game being in the news recently. Metal Gear is an entirely different situation and has no correlation other than being a remake.

Saber Interactive Sale Has Been Officially Confirmed By Embracer Group

Embracer Group has officially confirmed that Saber Interactive has been sold for $247 million, following news yesterday that the studio has removed all references to the mega-publisher from its official website.

Speaking in a statement to investors today, Embracer Group confirmed that the sale has resulted in the company ceasing all operations in Russia, with Saber Interactive being sold to a group of private investors at Beacon Interactive, which is helmed by Matthew Karch, the co-founder of Saber Interactive.

As a result of the sale, Saber Interactive will retain a number of studios including Nimble Giant, 3D Realms, Sandbox Strategies, New World Interactive, and Slippage Ironworks. Embracer, meanwhile, keeps Zen Studios, 4A Games, Tripwire, Beamdog, and Tuxedo Labs among others.

OtterX40d ago

That's great, at least Saber won't die in the embrace. I really enjoy Snowrunner, and Dakar Desert Rally is pretty fun w a wheel.

badz14940d ago (Edited 40d ago )

$247mil?? for what? smells like money laundring

BISHOP-BRASIL40d ago

Embracer paid 525 mil just a bit over 4 years ago for Saber and now sells it back for less than half... And for a company with heavy presence (and possibly investors looking to move their money around the embargo) in Russia and even Belarus... Suspicious don't even begin to describe it.

Knightofelemia40d ago

Better then being pawned off to Tencent. I think Beacon Interactive is a better fit for them.

Puty40d ago

They should go back to Dunder Mifflin.

kickerz39d ago

And take their stupid metal drink bottles with them
