Interesting score. Good review.

I honestly think this and Arkham city are the most overated games this generation. A very shallow combat system and no real interesting incentive to explore the world( and no the agility orbs.. Sorry i mean the riddler marks are not incentive to explore).

i gotta agree with u on that the game is great looking combat looks and plays really well but at the same time its feels dull and slow, prototype2 now that was a underrated with amazing game play and awesome side quests its ten times better than the first one.

The problem I have with the combat is that you sort of become really useless against anyone with guns. There's an upgrade to pull their guns off them, but they can just collect them within a few moments rendering it useless. One guy with a gun can drain your health so quickly. I dunno, I definitely think guns break the game a little... it provides more challenge, sure, but I want to be the Goddamn Batman.

The guns are a complication. You have to time the hits on those guys right, and pay attention to when they will shoot. Its about who to hit and win, that way its not senseless button smashing.....

Well this is rather shocking. Here I thought there would be more positive comments about the game rather than negative. I'm sorry guys, but I think Rocksteady did an amazing job with this and Arkham Asylum. Yes the combat is limited to two buttons and the gadgets, but so what? Why shouldn't combat be simple to learn? Allow me to retort on some of the comments.

Although the game may have felt slow to you, both games were driven through stealth challenges, story, and environments that required thought to get through. So, yeah, it would take some time. Nowadays when gamers complain that games are too expensive and too short, I would think they want more bang for their buck. Arkham City is packed with content that will keep you busy for hours.

Now as for thugs with guns, well, of course that's meant to be tough. Batman isn't Greek Lantern who can create a shield for himself or Superman who is bulletproof. He's human, but at the same time a strategist and a damn good one at that. The idea is that you strategize in how to take down armed thugs along with any other technology they have. Batman has the means to do so in the game. If you rush in against Penguin's guys who have firearms, then you're begging to get killed.

If you don't want that to happen, then upgrade your ballistic armor. Smoke pellets help aid your escape when seen by gun wielding thugs. Freeze Cluster Grenades trap enemies where they stand and they can't attack. The Disruptor can jam firearms when you get the upgrade. Yes, you are Batman, but you're not invincible (something that's always shown in the comics and the animated shows).

When I beat the game I'll get back to you with my final verdict. But so far, the most amazing thing about this game, to myself, has been the artistic design of the game. Absolutely everything is so utterly detailed it's insane, it blows my mind.

The story is minimalist, unfortunately, I'm up to Mr. Freeze, and his dedication to his wife is quite emotional. And Batman does have a few moments where he selflessly pursues his cause without even thinking about himself. But he's kind of one dimensional in the sense that that is all he does. He's too much of a "good guy" in this game, almost monotone in character. He's the dark knight, let him get angry. Maybe the end of the game will change my mind.
