Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes Coming to Vita

Kyle from The Vita Lounge writes;

"Did you catch it? I bet you didn’t. In a very stealthy announcement during the PlayStation Conference at E3, Disney Infinity 2.0 was announced as coming to Vita – but only mentioned once."

So now you have Vita Pets, Invizimals, Tearaway, Lego games, and now Disney Infinite. Sony is doing an all out blitz on bringing games for kids to the vita. This is fantastic.

I completely agree - now if only they'd advertise the games and system...

I wonder if this is going to be the console version or a port of the 3DS version. Please, please, please be the console version. I mean, if Minecraft can do it, Infinite can do it.

A younger audience assault is a great idea at getting more units into retail stores, and gain some confidence there.

It's all worthless though without any marketing or advertising, luckily the UK has its fair share of TV coverage but this needs to be replicated around the world. Make some noise, tell people what the Vita is, you might actually shift a few more units.

Disney Infinity 2 is a great move, hopefully this will inspire Activision to start thinking about a vita Skylanders, which would also do well.

A Look Back at Disney Games on PlayStation Handhelds

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "There are few brands out there that have anything like the appeal and recognition of Disney. Thanks to decades of beautiful and critically acclaimed animated films, the company is a household name that has expanded beyond just movies to include a variety of other ventures, including videogames. Disney has also grown its lineup considerably in recent years by acquiring Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars (although for the purposes of this article, I’ll only be covering Disney/Pixar output).

Thanks to their broad audience, Disney games usually show up on every viable platform out there, meaning that despite the brand’s affinity with Nintendo’s younger-skewing audience, both the PSP and Vita received a number of titles throughout their lives. Some of this was through Disney's own developer/publisher (Disney Interactive Studios), but the firm also licensed out its IPs for other companies to try their hand at – with somewhat mixed results."

I seriously hope this isn't true. I'm not a fan of shopping at Gamestop, but I guess I'll have to put my feelings aside to get it. Infinity on my Vita is all too perfect.

Gamestop has had a couple exclusive Vita stuff. Like Tales of Hearts R. They see the potential of the Vita, Sony somehow doesn't anymore.

Beetey3291d ago

I'll get the game at Gamestop I guess, but any additional characters or playsets will be bought at Walmart (way cheaper).

ruefrak3290d ago

I've found Walmart to be too expensive. Amazon usually has the best prices, and Target puts them on sale quite a bit.

I wonder if they have online multiplayer as far as the console versions...
