SchollA from Console ControllUs - where the console controls us writes:
It’s ironic as well as disheartening that one of my favorite developers this gen Naughty Dog, the creators of Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3 and the The Last of Us; thus my favorite games don’t work on my console sometimes. It’s a true hit or miss when I insert these games into my PS3. Let me explain.
"The Game Music Foundation are today very proud and pleased to announce an additional concert, circling back to the roots of Game Muisic Festival in Poland. On April 28th, 2024, the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw will once again become a place to celebrate the art of video game music, featuring scores from The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II." - The Game Music Foundation.
Najam from eXputer writes "It's time fore a new installment in the series, not another pointless remaster."
They are working on something new. Not to be rude but it is impossibility stupid to think ND next major announcement is going to be a remaster or their next Last of Us entry is going to be another remaster.
The team is sad for losing out on such a great project but celebrates its growth because of spending time on it.
All they had to do was make a basic online mode like their previous games. Instead they wanted more money and choose to go live service which makes games worse in my opinion.
What a waste of time and money, what a shame.
Not sure why they didn’t just make Factions 2. There was no need to make it a live service.
TLoU Factions was a great addition such a shame they couldn’t be bothered to remaster that for PS5 considering the crazy high price tag of the remaster of a remaster…
This is something to be celebrated. This studio is smart and they get it, even factions 2 wouldn't've have been worth the time. I am surprised they didn't just remaster the first one though, but actually how popular was Factions?
If you have a Super Slim, that could be why. Those things are really poorly made. The Slim is the best bet when going for a PS3. Followed by the 'tank' original model lol. My 60 GB lasted for like 6 years or something.
Sounds like a defective PS3 to be honest; I know ND games tend to fill a Blu-Ray disc while a lot of others don't (whether it be one or two-layered). That said, it could be issues related to where the laser needs to move - being further for ND games than most others.
I'd love to know for sure though, sounds like a strange issue.
I'm fairly certain the different colored disk means it's dual layered (~50gb opposed to the normal ~25). I think only (or at least mostly) 1st party devs use those disks. I'd bet if you tried KZ3 for example it would do the same thing. Most multi's don't use that much of the disk so it's cheaper to go with the standard disk.
This basically says your drive is faulty:

It sounds like a problem with your bluray drive reading dual layer discs. U2,U3and TLOU all use them. Naughty Dog games are HUGE and the cinematics and/or the multiplayer is on a separate layer of the disc. It is very rare in the industry because most games are multiplat and have to fit on DVD for 360 and also the prerendered cinematics take up a lot of space. Anyway contact sony about it they may be able to repair or replace your drive.
i remember one week i could t get UC2 to work at all and then the next week no prob....i killed that multiplayer. i thought of it as a sign i need a break
