Saving the Game: No Really, Just Let Me Stop Playing Now

Hardcore Gamer: Would it really be too much to ask for a saving system that was explained at the onset of a game so you would know what you're getting into? To accommodate those who are gaming and trying to hold down a full-time job as well as real-life obligations, for the love of the game, people--just let us save!

That's what the psp/vita/ps4's suspend mode is for.

I prefer the psp go's save state though.

Since it saves to the memory card it allows you to completely turn of your device but still pause anywhere you please.

That image is part of the fun, though. I love the tension that results when I see a save point. Odds are I've just pushed the limit of what I could do at my current level/item set, so I'm super thankful that there's a place to save. At the same time, though, I know from experience that save points also precedes boss fights or other important events, which makes me nervous for what comes next.

I like it like that.

But yet, as Cirehpsa above says, the ability to suspend the game at virtually any point is being implemented on a hardware level. Which means there's no need for developers to come up with some new game saving scheme.

Besides, it's not like there aren't games where you can save at pretty much any time. There are plenty, and they do it different ways. Xillia, for example- because I've been playing it most recently- has a Quick Save feature.

To me, not really a worry.

Actually Ryan Gosling makes a ton of sense.

Edit: If this can be done in a Scott Pilgrim movie kind of way that would be dope.

The more I think about it, the more I kinda want it to be a thing lol. Ryan Gosling would be awesome. He would need to play it less serious, but he's shown that he can be a goofball.
