To a small degree there might be. ESO aside, I think the case can be made for a subscription MMO minus the f2p crap.
The only applies to the PC community though as we've had several years to get used to the idea.
I would like to see a return of the classic MMO, with player housing, real in-game economy, crafting (not BS WoW crafting).
