UM writes: Dante’s Inferno isn’t an extremely old video game, but I would like to talk about it for Video Game Rewind and let other gamers know about this game before we switch to the next generation. Dante’s Inferno was released in 2010 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was developed by Visceral Games and was published by Electronic Arts. The game is based on Inferno which is the first canticle of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. As a fan of Italian literature especially that of Alighieri’s, I was excited about this game. I know Inferno like the back of my hand. What was more exciting than seeing two of my favorite passions combined in one medium?
There are good video game protagonists, and there are bad video game protagonists.
I disagree that max is unlikable. Chloe is infinitely more unlikable in my opinion.
Most of these aren't even that bad. Especially comparing to others like Squall "Whatever" Leonhart, Forspoken's Frey, and the guy from Atomic Heart.
i had to stop reading after the "blatant misogyny" in the Dantes inferno section.
i actually liked Max haha.
the forspoken chick is missing tho
Grab your katana, and slice your way through this list featuring the best hack and slash games the PlayStation 3 had to offer.
Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.
heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.
I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
Dante's Inferno at 4K 60FPS!
Sad this may never get the sequel it deserves. It's still one of the best GoW clones around.
I would love to revisit my old PS3 games played at a higher framerate and resolution. UC2, TLOU, GOW3, KZ2 & 3, Demon Souls
It's a pretty decent game, but God of War 3 and Castlevania Lords of Shadow are much better.
I don't care what anybody says, gameplay-wise it was a pure God of War clone. i finished it a long time ago, some parts of the game even looks like levels in God of War , my major gripe with it was the clunkiness you feel when you hit an enemy with your Scythe , i just can't explain it .
Also the graphics were just ok, the bosses were average , i specially disliked the last battle with satan.
The positives were the Combos, were you had two branches the holy and i forgot what the other one's called, also i liked the system were they let you 'judge' condemned souls, i've seen it before in the Darkwatch i think, but still it was nice.
6-7/10 imo
