Best Of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 Review | Metal Arcade

Metal Arcade: Jason Bakker writes:

Sony’s Best Of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 is a diverse collection of fun and crazy titles that will appeal to gamers wary of digital purchases.

Some gamers just aren’t ready to embrace an all-digital future. I can’t say I blame them; as this generation comes to a close many of us are left wondering whether all of the downloadable purchases we’ve made will be playable on next-gen hardware. Review: Best of PlayStation Network Vol 1 (New Gamer Nation)

Just because a game has a cheaper price tag, shorter length, and lower budget does not mean it is a bad game. To cast these types of digital games aside as cheap counterparts to “actual” games is not only pretentious, but also simply idiotic. Games like Journey and Bastion have shown how digital games can easily compete against the bigger studio games out there, often times holding a deeper or more meaningful experience. With the release of Best of Playstation Network Vol. 1, you are able to play Tokyo Jungle, Sound Shapes, Fat Princess, and When Vikings Attack!, four pretty solid digital games that can keep you occupied for countless hours.
