It looks amazing, but a little bit odd as well

Yea if you look closely to the water it looks like the water stretches when the waves pull apart. No very realistic but it looks ok. The Nvidia demo was by far the most realistic although it was a tech demo.

true, though Nvidia's was a tech demo. This is running via the editor in Crysis 3 (meaning it's closer to what we'll be - eventually - getting)

I was on the thread when that ocean video was posted. I don't think it was meant to impress. It was just a comparison to CE2 water. It would look much better if the water had a better fog color to it, this is pretty easy to change. The current color looks un natural.

Also this isn't Crysis 3's editor, it is CE3, which is the same engine, but we haven't gotten some of the features of Crysis 3 yet. The water from Crysis 3 looks nearly photorealistic - http://i.imgur.com/HNp0te2....

Btw, I just realized that they showed one of my shots in this article.

I'm not a fan of this one. The water just looks odd, it randomly shifts and starts moving in different directions. In open water like that most of the waves should be traveling in one direction.
