Should remind you of Ringworld or any number of space habitat projects from the 70s.

Yeah, Ringworld is first, with some Gattaca and a few other things mixed in.

It seems like it'd need two movies to tell the story completely and correctly, and yet I get the feeling it'll all be stuffed into one; the rushed result- or what appears to be that- only mildly interests me.

I want to see this movie, but tbh (and I know I'll get disagreed to the moon), I don't like Matt Damon. Yeah, yeah, he is a good actor etc. Etc, but I don't like him. He was good in Saving Private Ryan (he didn't say too much, but when he did it was good).

He seems like the generic go-to guy for movies. I don't hate him, I think he is a good actor, but something, and I don't know what, makes me not interested in his movies. Sorry.

Can't say I care much for him either however he was great in dogma.

Yeah, I liked him in Dogma but never watched any of the Bourne movies. He just doesn't seem interesting enough.

I think the problem is that when people think of him they automatically think Bourne, and while those are fun action films, they aren't prime examples of his best acting.

I like him very much in Rounders. :)

I liked him best in The Talented Mr Ripley. I am not blown away by Elysium trailer to be honest.

Better movie history than his buddy, Ben Affleck.

I love halo and have played since the first installment in the franchise, but we shouldn't give it this much credit. I think it's important to remember that Halo did not invent space stations, the word "Elysium," and exoskeletons. These wonderful things had been a part of science fiction franchises long before the arrival of Halo.

The article isn't saying that Halo invented these science fiction concepts, it is simply pointing out that Elysium is using the same concepts. This is notable because Blomkamp was directing the Halo film until it was canceled.

So this film, which shares some of the same concepts, is kind of a tease to Halo fans as to what might have been.

Blomkamp said that he still wants to make the Halo movie. I would doubt it would go down well just like most video game movies because the directors seem to have little to no experience of the source material.
