GameFocus - I don’t think that I am necessarily the target audience for the Xbox Kinect dance title, “The Hip Hop Dance Experience”. I’m likely more hipster than hip hop, and my personal playlist consists of more Ramones and Rancid than Rihanna or RUN DMC. That being said, I figured that if I was going to venture into the world of dance games, I best cut a rug to one styled on a musical genre synonymous with smooth moves and backbeats that get your feet moving. Love it or hate it, hip hop seems to provide the soundtrack whenever people want to bust-a-move or get jiggy with it.

You won't find much variety of variation in the Hip Hop Dance Experience, pick a song, difficult, and go to town. The game makes the peculiar choice of unlocking everything from the get-go: this makes things perfect for jumping into a party mode, but there's simply no sense of progression
