Makes sense, SCE Asia had never made any games before and now SCE Japan is boosted so they can produce more.

Hopefully they'll push some staff Team ICO's way.

Hopefully Sony, as a whole, makes it back to it's former glory.

I miss seeing that logo everytime I booted my ps1. I'd love to see it as the new ps4 boot up screen.

Actually, scratch that. I want to be able to play my games asap. Forget having a boot screen. I want it to start up asap (like Vita does).

That impossible without Third Parties Exclusives they had but now went Multiplat.

I've read a analysis somewhere on the net, the chances are 49% that Sony is going under in the next two years.

I read a thing on a site somewhere, it must be true!

yes, maybe in your fanboy dreams that article was correct but in reality it's extremely improbable.

Sony is too big to go under.

I read an analysis somewhere that said the chances are 85% that you'll be down to one bubble in the next seven days.

It wouldn't surprise me if Sony continue to consolidate, and possibly sell off some parts of the business to enable them to streamline - but I find it unlikely that they will go under.

I read somewhere that you put wheels on your 360 and take it for walks
stuna1  +   569d ago
And I read somewhere that you'll be going under too! Back under your "Troll Bridge"', because you're out of bubbles.

Now SCEE needs to add to Quantic Dream to the list of 1st party Sony Devs.

they need to buy CDPR;>

They better not. Leave my Witcher on PC alone!

Unless they allowed PC versions of their games. :)

I'm still mad at Sony for closing down Studio Liverpool.
Sizzon  +   569d ago
The Studio Liverpool guys merged with Evolution Studios, the guys who made the Motorstorm games and are developing Drive Club for the Playstation 4.

I also thought that was the case but there was never confirmation of this.

there was an official statement from Sony stating their intentions to merge the two studios but when Studio Liverpool actually closed down, SOME of the devs went to Evolution, while the rest (apparently most of them) were eventually laid off. some started their own small studios.

"A Sony spokesperson also said the company will try to
relocate those affected to other studios. "We will be
looking to relocate the team members throughout the
studios, but unfortunately some redundancies will be
necessary and in those cases we will assist staff in any
way we can"

Expect a couple of lay-offs. Hope those guys land on their feet.

Sonys Asian studios managed to release 1 full game for the PS3 for the entire generation. The other titles were HD remakes or... the last guardian.
FrigidDARKNESS  +   569d ago
I dee studios being closed or getting purged together? Next gen you wont see as many exvluives released per yar. Sony lost money on alot of exclusive titles when software sales began to shrink
