I'm not sure you should be allowed to call yourself fangirl if you don't know the difference between 1st and 3rd person shooters. ; )

That aside, I can see how the game would be a letdown if you were expecting something like Fallout 3, but I don't know why you would have been expecting that. Nothing I've seen since the game was revealed implied that sort of game.

As for being worth the $60, I think you also need to take into account that all new DLC areas will be playable whether you buy them or not. Only new loot tied to that DLC would be locked to people who didn't buy it.

Anyway, no game is for everyone but I had a blast with the beta. It's gonna be a long week until release.

Typo! I fixed it, though. Thanks for pointing it out.

I would play Rift over this (another TRION game). I also love the story of The Secret World. I didn't think Defiance compared. However, I did like the shooting, and as I said, it was a good time waster.

I might re-consider trying it again later. I am still curious as to how it will tie into the t.v. series.

Yeah people's reaction might vary by platform. I don't do any PC gaming at all so MMO style games are comparatively very rare. PS3 was supposedly going to get a bunch of MMOs, but here we are talking about PS4 and very few have shown up. The one I was most interested in, The Agency, was canceled.

I'm expecting mediocre reviews for Defiance even though I loved the beta. Mostly because of the graphics, which aren't all that important to me. The TV show can definitely have an impact on the game. I have high hopes because I thought Battlestar Galactica was mostly above average and many of the same people are involved with Defiance.

I found it pretty fun. It reminds me of a oss between FallOut and Bordelands which are both great games.
