I didn't buy AC III because the historical context didn't appeal me in the first place. But pirates...that's another story. Too bad they're milking the series, I don't like the idea of contributing to that. But the trailer was pretty cool... So maybe I'll just wait for some gameplay videos to see what direction they're taking with this episode. Let's hope it steps away from the others and provides a new approach to the series.

I felt the same way about AC3 and I even own the game. Pirates is a different story.

love the idea of pirates, but AC as a story is going down like X-Files, they should have made this into a new franchise.

@Newmonday

Sigh. You had to remind me of X files didn't you? That was a show that after season five just went downhill and got worse and worse until the ending when the show just became ridiculous.

I'm gonna go with yes on this one. They are milking this franchise now!

Yes AC3 was a complete uninspired bore fest also the multiplayer is trash don't know why Ubisoft keep adding it in the AC series.

Too soon ??? Absolutely not, they should release five Assassin's Creed each year. /s

I didn't finish 3 yet. So I might get this after it has gone down in price but it's not a day 1 buy for me.

If AC was releases every few years and they just did a yearly release now than it would be to soon but seeing how they always do yearly releases than its not to soon.

This actually the first theme I'm interested in. Might actually play this franchise now.

There's been an annual AC game priced at $60 for the better portion of the generation. CoD's doing the same thing, it's just that Activision has been at it a little bit longer.

Ubisoft should watch their step with AC. If they don't make significant changes to the formula with each game it could become stale. I don't feel they've done that yet. Two improved on everything in One, Brotherhood and Revelations added things like multiplayer and the mission system and three incorporated elements like hunting, bartering and tree platforming.

As long as they keep providing new things to do with the formula, I don't think it will get old.
