Zen Pinball 2 has launched on Wii U eShop and brought a whole host of tables with it.
The download for Zen Pinball 2 is completely free, and there are trials for all of the available tables. However, players will need to purchase them all individually or in packs in order to get involved in the experience.
"To coincide with the home video release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Zen Studios added three more tables to its Star Wars pinball series." - Tyler Hall from Video Chums
The collection of pinball tables featured in Zen Pinball 2 (AKA Pinball FX 2) is quite impressive. Zen Studios are masters at crafting thrilling pinball experiences but does their new Star Wars: Rogue One table live up to their reputation?
Like many of their virtual pinball tables, the Star Wars Rogue One Pinball table captures the feel of the film...for better or worse.
The game looks good and plays well. The tables are well designed and overall it's probably the best Pinball game I've played... But it's still flawed:
1. Why the hell are 80% of the tables Marvel themed? I don't mind Marvel characters but GODDAMN.
2. If you want all the tables, it's pretty expensive (approx £55).
3. Purchasing tables is a pain in the neck. You have to quit the game, go into the eShop and download the demo table AND unlock code from there. Then relaunch the game... What the??
... If I was being picky I'd also say the demo tables time-out too soon. I've played a couple but don't know if I want to buy them because I didn't get chance to really play them.
So overall it's good, despite itself.
