i know SR fans think SR3 sold ok so game must be good but Sr2 was a much much better game overall. GTA was crazy on ps2 yet it was also serious
i am a huge open world games fan so more games in genre is better but SR4 needs to be done right and not just got after the craziness.
SR series has potential but when you only go after craziness and silliness you are not going after a lot of fans who otherwise buy open world games, so why limit your fan base
I hope Deep Silver doesn't F up the game and release it with a lot of Bugs like 1st dead island
do SR4 right, look at sleeping dogs you could do a lot of crazy stuff yet the game has a proper tone of seriousness and fun. The story in SR3 sucked if there was a story
let's say F word 10.000 times lets go blow this building or kill this person and do it gangster style
I think Deep Silver will have a "hands off" approach with Volition and allow them to do as they please. In this day and age where publishers are cutting costs left and right by removing the game manuals, Deep Silver aren't. I took a look at my Dead Island booklet today and its there, it's thick and it is full color. This just makes me feel like they do care.
Except Koch bought saints row and now volition is the same as deep silver: a subsidiary of Koch. there's no reason to think deep silver will have anything to do with saints row. Why is that so confusing for people?
Who cares if it wins "awards" what does that matter? Saints Row 3 was one of THQ's highest selling titles, and thats why all this whining is pointless.
To me other developers are just mad because they are stuck with PR friendly publishers. If a dildo appeared at EA they'd be torn apart for it.
It sold well, so all this bickering about 'it went too far" is rather funny because of the sales. Honestly what do you want? You want them to go make it an FPS and try to clone COD like almost every other game out there? No. It has an identity, and if we haven't learned already, taking that away will ruin it.
The people saying "tone it down" are probably the same people that will end up buying a different game when it releases.
SR3 was a legit fun game. It was one of the very few games that got my non-gamer friends hooked. I guess it was because it was so over the top, cartoony, and had character creation.
Being too serious all the time is just not fun, IMO. If I want a serious story sandbox game, I'll go to GTA.
for SR4, I do hope they keep the over-the-top stuff. They can tone it down a little to please the other fans, but I just hope they don't make it too similar to GTA. Again, SR3 was fun because it was wacky. I haven't had this much ridiculous/stupid fun with a western game in ages.
First off who give two shits about what Clifford B. Says the company he last worked for released a game full of dick joke & sexual innuendos, sexists remarks. Personally if deep silver turn this into a GTA clone am not buying it,cause if I had wanted GTA I would have never stopped buying them to begin with.

I have high hopes for Sr4
Dildo Baggins?
If they can keep how much more vertical SR3 was and have the better story/characters of SR1&2, they could have something that much better.

I, for one, am glad they did. :)
I don't think people care about the content, so much as they care about entertainment.
