But- but- how can I start, when I never stopped??
chrispseuphoria  +   635d ago
The reason why some people stopped caring is because they kept rehashing the same "New" Super Mario Bros formula again and again for 4 different systems! 2 games from that particular subsection of Mario games were released within one half of the year! They're finally creating a new 3D Mario game though! Plus, there are two Zeldas and an awesome "X" J-RPG for Wii U on the way! Super Smash Bros will be awesome too! They're actually understanding people's outcries throughout the past few years and this was an excellent response.

Welcome back, Nintendo.

Then just keep being a loyal supporter. As a fan of Nintendo myself, I payed attention less and less since the Gamecube era. Nintendo simply did not peak my interest. This news now is looking much better than anything I've seen from them in a long time.

Caring about Nintendo and being a loyal supporter are NOT the same thing. I care about great games, so I care about Nintendo as they are one of many developers/publishers pushing out consistently fun games. However, I am not "loyal" like some fanatic.

I have always been meh about Nintendo...except in the case of the N64 which by the way REMAINS my favorite console of all time. I see that, however, this time around...Nintendo is doing some stuff...they got some things up their sleeve...they got that confident swagger going on like they know something we don't...I'm excited for what they have to offer this generation. I haven't picked up the Wii U yet I will wait on that front. I do have a 3DS though...and with Monster Hunter, Zero Escape and Fire Emblem it looks like my portable lineup just got full. Can't wait to see what's in store for Nintendo in the future.

I liked the announcement for the VC coming to the Wii U soon. Hopefully they'll have remote play on the gamepad and incorporate gamecube titles later on down the line
KidMachinate  +   635d ago
Wii U enhanced VC games are said to have just that. The ability to play them on the Wii U gamepad.

As far as Gamecube titles coming, I don't personally see that happening. I think they will make more HD remakes like Wind Waker much similar to how Sony has their HD remakes or collections.

KwietStorm  +   635d ago
Please stop with this "true gamer" crap. I grew up on Nintendo. NES was my second console ever, and I never stopped playing video games, I just stopped playing Nintendo games. So what am I? A fake gamer?

I dont buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games because im sick and tired of almost all their franchises (except for Zelda and Metroid). The main reason why i sold my Wii was because there was barely any third party support for it and all the big multiplats were on the 360 and the PS3. I go where the games that i like are which makes me a true gamer unlike those fakes that buy every single console just to show them off. Seriously unless a console has a ton of games that im interested in (not just 1 or 2 exclusives) then i deem it worth buying.

@Kwietstorm

I guess im a fake as well because i love gaming on my PS3, Vita and PC. I guess true gamers have to own every single console on the market even the ones that dont have any games that interest them.

BTW if a console has one game that im interested in playing i just rent the system and the game and thats it. No need to waste 200€ just to play one game.

OT: I never stopped caring about the consoles that Nintendo produces i just stopped caring about their franchises because after playing so many Mario games i get bored of them. Its time for Nintendo to show off some new ips.

a true gamer plays everything available that is good quality regardless of the console.. don`t give me this crap about im a true gamer cuz i got xbox, ps3, and pc sermon. All that means is that you`ve got 3 machines to pick from to play about 65% of games that come out, thus limiting you from playing any nintendo console games..... and im not a fanboy!! i have an old xbox 1 , 3 dreamcasts, a wii, a wii u, a 3ds, a ps2 and 5 xbox 36o`s.

I was fortunate enough to have each console and handheld last gen (sold PSP). There are things I like about all. It comes down to personal preference and whatever budget you have at the time.

I'd like to choose a console for next-gen (Wii U, PS4, or 720) but why choose just one if you can get them all? If all offer enough games that you are interested in, you owe it to yourself to at least try. Keep your options open. If you don't like something, someone else will.
