I personally experienced that sense of importance people can get when they think they are 'in the biz'...

I had a friend who one day took offence to a link I posted on Facebook about a PS3 exclusive game. You see, this 'friend' is a manager at a game store where I live (nowhere glamorous). He believes himself as much more informed than most about video games and his opinion could not be questioned by a peasant such as myself.

His opinion happened to be that I was not allowed to get excited for a PS3 exclusive because "teh eckbawks is duh bestest". He proceeded to tell me all the reasons his opinion was actually a solid fact that I couldn't argue with and eventually unfriended me in an act of spite.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that bias exists in almost all environments where there are two or more competing parties and because video game 'journalists' are actually involed in the subject they write about they can never be 100% objective. It's the reason you don't have a fan of a football team referee the match in which his chosen team is playing.

Also people are mostly jerks :)

Nothing bothers me more than people in a certain industry that believe everything they think is solid fact.
