meh i knew ninty is up to something with that bigger battery space on the game pad..
morpha  +   714d ago
they will make a mint from these officially licensed products that are almost essential.

Awesome that it just replaces the existing battery and doesn't add any extra bulkiness to the gamepad.
dantesparda  +   714d ago
why couldnt this just have been the wii u's battery?
morpha  +   714d ago
Probably because nintendo was trying to hit a price point.

What I want to know is: How heavy is this battery?
dantesparda  +   713d ago
I understand that, but i still think Nintendo should have bit the bullet and swallowed the cost

awesome. hopefully something to extend the range of gamepad as well.
Neonridr  +   713d ago
I can take my gamepad down one floor from my loft, and take the gamepad into my bedroom or the bathroom and it still works fine. More than enough range. I mean sure, if I could play the thing on my backyard patio that would be kind of cool, but overall I am quite happy with the range I am getting. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to leave the same floor as it.
MasterCratosKong66  +   713d ago
yeah but unfortunately it doesnt work that way for everyone. i cant accomplish those same things you mentioned and i assume it is because of the thickness of my walls because i cant use it when i leave my living room so if they could increase the signal strength i would be very greatful

Well that sucks...they raised the price $5 bucks and it STILL isn't available to purchase.

Other than that, it should be a great product. Wish it was still listed at $19.99.

Scratch that. They actually have two. The one mentioned and this one

http://www.nyko.com/product...

So it seems $19.99 for the Uboost (which I think is a 2nd battery in addition to the stock one)

Rated as able to double the gamepad life.

...and the one in this article for $24.99 (which I think is a replacement for the stock 1st battery).

Rated as able to triple the gamepad life.

Which I guess overall means you can get both and have 3x from replacing the stock batter and then add to it with the Uboost. I guess that would mean somewhere around 5x the normal life. Though probably either solution, especially the 3x, should be good enough for almost everyone.

I'm getting the battery that go's in it, I play the heck out of my Wii U to the point of the gamepad dying. So more life, more gaming.

another added cost to the wii u
nintendo gets more and more and more of your money..
Sgt_Slaughter  +   714d ago
...This is made by Nyko, which has ZERO affiliation with Nintendo when it comes to finances.

It's also optional, so you don't HAVE to buy it.
