I hope they push a second screen, whether it's through the Vita or not. I already feel spoiled by having the second screen in the Wii U. I would love if the PS4 had it too, though I'll buy it either way.

Also, fanboys, all fanboys, yoooooou're allllllllllllllllllllllllll craaaaaaaaaaaaazy.

The price of Vita is going to keep dropping throughout the PS4's lifetime so it'll be easily affordable for people who want it just for the 2nd screen while playing PS4 games.
Why would Sony make something almost identical to the Vita as a controller for the PS3 when there is already Vita? It makes no sense whatsoever. People will use their Vita for a 2nd screen if they want, other people won't care for a 2nd screen.

Nicely written article but no logic or knowledge behind it whatsoever.

"PlayStation 4 is going to have to ship with a second screen in the box."
Why?

"I believe that the Vita holds the key to Sony’s strategy here."
Exactly.

"the PlayStation 4 – is only a few months away"
No. Few? How can that be the case if it's not announced yet. It probably won't even be purchasable in the west until 2014.

sony is probably not going to use the whole vita second screen thing with many games. and honestly, there is no reason for them to. the wii u's gimmick is not selling (especially not compared to the motion gaming craze) and the general consensus has been that it ranges from usable to irritating.

i saw one guy in the comment section of the article saying

"For me the Wii U is great not because you can split the screen, but because you can play full console games /off/ screen, with no TV. It’s fantastic, and suits me perfectly.

PS4 has to have this on the controller. Has to."

that's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I didnt buy a $1000 HD tv so that I could look at a 480P tablet in my hands the whole time. if I wanted that, I would play a handheld, not a console game.

i find the whole notion that this tablet controller thing is going to become an industry norm to be quite humorous. a year from now, no one is going to give a crap about this sort of tech. its pointless, superficial garbage.

the wii u is destined to be nintendo's biggest home console flop. microsoft and sony have no reason to emulate its tech

I just hope whatever Sony does, they'll support it till the end. I hate that they introduce things, but stop supporting them the minute they see people are losing interest, rather than try to recapture their interest.

Look at how cool they tried to make the Sixaxis seem and how little we see it used today. Playstation Eye was cool on the PS2 and PS3, but games barely supported it. The wands were a great idea, but it's barely getting any support....even from Sony. Remote play was another idea they give little attention to as well.

id love to simply use my Vita as a second screen as it is and dev just make use of it and when PS4 comes out, theyll be familiar with how its working together like PS3/Vita is the Beta.

12cores of Gaming Processing Power
PS3/PSVita :)

Vita as a GT5/6 Pit Stratergies Screen to make any adjustments you can adjust in your setups! using Vita power to handle that.

Unlike Nintendo's fixed-screen-cum control pad, I would rather see Sony and/or Microsoft do a sort of detachable and foldable plug-in touch screen of up to maybe 5 to 7 inches ( be good to see if they offer it as a standard out-of-the-box unit or a bundle at least ).

Sony/Microsoft are you listening?..idea here..

Sony will copy Nintendo, and people will scream: "BUT IT`S A DIFFERENT TECH!!!"

I can`t help but laugh every time I see Nintendo dominating the innovation, and other companies copies it, and of course the fanboys answers.

Yes just like the power glove by mattel for nes truly a breakthrough or force feedback like the sidewinder joysticks, you nintendo fanatics, would credit nintendo with creating video games if you could get away with it.

Nintendo innovatives, just not as much as you people blindly give them credit for. But now motion controls the whole point of the wii, is tossed aside for innovative tablet gaming.

Typical nintendo innovation take someones elses idea improve on it and be hailed as a visonary by blind fanboys.

Mindless sheep going on about innovation, while explaining nothing relevant.

If your doing the same shit pressing a different button, it's not innovative but different.

You want innovative take lbp user created content and spread it to all games and be able to change whole parts of the game textures/backgrounds/skins ect on the fly. It's old on the pc, its called modding.

If playing the exact same gameplay from 10-20 yrs ago is innovative to you, damn you have really low standards. Get out of the 90's in regards to story or character development for the big three.

At least i don't sit here and constantly praise everything sony does as innovative or brilliant.

Stop using innovative or innovation as a pointless buzzword.

Can someone please explain why putting a vita in the middle of a splitable duel shock is a even remotely a gooid idea, ps vita has most of the buttons already lol

Also I think remote play is half arsed because the ps3 lacks the ram to make it work effectively, come ps4 this will be addressed and we should all get the remote play we should have got this gen. Essentially a portable version of your full console

I will wait and see.
