I'd much rather sink the money I would spend on a new console on PC upgrades. I like my 360 and haven't had any issues with it, but PC is just so much more versatile and unrestricted.

People wont forget the RRoD and I think MS will have a bit more of a struggle this time around. Paying for live? I dont see how this is even an issue. It's $50 a year? So what? A whopping 4 dollars or so a month for some solid online gaming isn't worth whining about. You probably spend more than that at 7-11 on slurpees and hotdogs every day. Cry me a fucking river, you cheap dinks.

I'll bet given Sony's financial woes as of late and MS' huge monetary success with LIVE, they wont be above charging for their services with this new round of consoles.

PC =FREE and far less annoying fucking brats.

I already have a Wii U but I will get the PS4 eventually as I did with the PS3 before it. It might take a year or two depending on how expensive the console is but I will buy it. I've never owned a Microsoft game console and have no intention on getting the 720 or what ever name they settle on.

I wish I had never brought a 360.
I brought one at launch because i loved the original xbox.
But M$ has abandoned the hardcore for casual gamers and i'm not sure what they'll do with the 720. Will they come out strong for the hardcore again and then abandon them after 2 or 3 years again?

I think i'd be better off with Sony.
Despite their faults, they stick with their loyal game buying fans.

Unlike the author of this article, I will wait to see what Sony and Microsoft have to offer before making ridiculous and uneducated comments about the next gen systems. I bought my 360 first this gen, and my PS3 three years afterward. I'm happy with the games on my xbox, but the advertisements on live and the price of the subscription are beginning to annoy me greatly. I have enjoyed the PS3 primarily for it's great exclusives, and the free online component was critical to my purchase of the system. We will see what these companies have to offer next. My purchase decision will as always be dictated by which offers the better experience overall. Brand loyalty has absolutely nothing to do with it, as I was a diehard PS2 gamer who never bought the original Xbox, and prior to that I was more into sega genesis, super nintendo, nes, ps1. I just want good games at a decent price and a good online experience that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and doesn't have the audacity to bombard subscribers with unwanted, intrusive advertising. Is that too much to ask? If it is, count me out as a consumer of your product next gen.

it's unfortunate when someone has to write an article to defend their platform of choice, who cares what other people like? i don't mind paying 3.33 a month to get my online experience of choice.
