Ill have to disagree about the Power Blow. Dead Or Alive was always about constant fluid combat and the addition of this "super move" takes away the speed of the game (especially when the interactive stages already accomplished this and has been a staple in the series). The VF Fighters needs alot more balancing (Sarah Bryant particularly) and even that's a problem because the timing of the counter system was out of whack compared to the others.

The lack of costume unlockables (which are now overpriced DLC) and the ludicrous undertakings for the few that are available (having to go through 5 extra difficulties in survival mode with 100 combatants in each without losing a round for one swimsuit) are marred even more with cheap A.I that reads your moves way too quickly making it feel broken.

The desertion of old school favourite characters such as Leon just added even more frustration.

I truly wished the game was released a lot later so it can alot of the gameplay issues out of the way because I like the new art direction and story mode presentation. Plus Tina got a well deserved speed boost to finally make her go toe to toe with La Mariposa who felt like her upgraded version in Dead Or Alive 4.

As Sony's roster is so extensive, i always thing there was going to be a few characters that people missed. I for one am very surprised Lara Croft didn't make it in! Saying that though, there are some great characters on offer, even though 2 out of the 20 are Cole from Infamous!

In terms of the gameplay, when i played All-Stars at Eurogamer the Supers didnt totally destroy the flow but i can see where youre coming from with the Level 3 Supers that, on occasion,results in the entire fight coming to a stand still. Its still pretty smooth though i have to say!
