Can't really understand why they would have had problems on the PS3, but as no spu's or anything was used I guess it's not surprising.
It's a 2d platformer. and yet they fukup the ps3 version with blur, rofl.
Wii u had slight upgrades which they gave to the PC version, but left out of the 360 And PS3 for no reason, other then to add something for WII U owners.
Actually the Frostbite Developers said that they wouldn't be able to put the Goblin Menace DLC onto the 360 and PS3 without downgrading some of the visuals. And since they didn't want to compromise the beauty of the game, they opted to leave it out. Game is simply stunning on the Wii U. I love it.
One of the complaints was screen tearing, its quite a common problem for PS3 multiplat games, One of the main reasons I only use my PS3 to play exclusives, but its been a bit quiet for a while now as I'm not really interested in battle royale. I think Journey was the last game I played on PS3 (which was amazing).
Yeah, I've hardly touched my ps3 all year, except for Lovefilm. Next year should be better, I will bring it out of its long hibernation for The Last of Us and and Beyond.
It's a 2D platformer, true, but it's also a very detailed one with 3D graphics, with incredible environments, superb lighting and shadow effects, particles everywhere, and nice physics. Just because it's downloadable and "2D" (gameplay-wise) doesn't mean it can't be demanding.
According to this article, Wii U puts out better graphics on this game than PS3 and Xbox 360, with more content, all the while streaming the image to the tablet while outputting it on the TV screen, too. All of this while maintaining a rock solid framerate and resolution (720p all the time, whereas the other HD consoles scale the resolution back and forth to maintain a stable framerate).
Either Frozenbite did a superb job at optimizing the game for the Wii U hardware, or the Wii U isn't as weak as many people claim... although I think it's more likely it's a combination of the two.
I've also heard the wii u is using nvidia's physics x for a more detailed physics simulation, so that should put the cpu worries out of the way if they use that.

Besides that, it's collecting a lot of dust.
