I run crysis on my 560ti maxed out at 60fps, try patching crysis and updating your drivers. Here i'm hoping my 670ftw rig can handle this maxed out, I'm sure as hell I won't be able to run it at 120fps though.
hmm sounds okay, but can't really base much on given system requirements these days if code isn't optimized, but hopefully they built the pc version on the pc and then ported to consoles. my 680 sc / 2500k should do hi-ultra with low aa at 60 fps i suppose. but im waiting to get an 8 core haswell and add a second 680 or sell the 680 and get a 780 anyway, so im excited for this.
They said this was built with PC in mind, infact I believe this is the first game to require direct x11 as a minimum. And the visuals also prove it looks great.
There's actually been lots of games in the past couple years that require DX11.
- Hitman Absolution - Sleeping Dogs - Black Ops II - Assassin's Creed III - NFS: Most Wanted - NFS: The Run - Battlefield 3 - MoH: Warfighter - Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
All are DX11 only games. They do somewhat support DX10 in that a DX10 card will only be able to turn on the DX11 graphical features that are compatible with DX10. But the games themselves are still DX11 only.
Anyways, I find it funny that under Recommended it says CPU: Quad core "GPU", and then in the examples it lists dual core CPU's instead of quads. Geez Crytek, is it really that hard to have someone proof read these things before you send them out?
Those games require dx11 to run at max , but can still be played at very good graphics even on 10. This will be the first game ever to require a dx11 card bare minimum, something which is great to see. This will be the first dx11 only game.
I'll be interested to see what kind of workout this will give my 670. Hopefully it won't chew it up completely with the VRAM some of those textures require.
I am sure you'll be fine if you adjust some settings, but if you were planning to go 100% max on every game I think the 2 GB mark is going to be a problem soon.
I've exceeded 2 GB in VRAM in both Crysis 2 and Max Payne 3 at just 1080p. Crysis 2 got up to around 2.1 to 2.2 GB with everything maxed out. I went with 4 GB GTX 670 cards and gave up a bit of power compared to the GTX 680 for that reason.
I meet high performance so I'm happy but I'm still thinking of picking up another 680 pretty soon anyways. It's overkill really but I've become addicted to all the AA, downsampling from higher res, and having room for more mods. I might wait and see how Crysis 3 pushes it first though (and if we hear more about 700s by then).
I'd caution you on making that type of investment if you have 2 GB VRAM cards. It's not hard to go over that, especially with mods. If you have two 2 GB cards in SLI, they don't add up to 4 GB. You are still at 2 GB.
You'll have a massive amount of processing power but will start running out of VRAM. And the thing that especially prompted me to warn you of this is the fact that you're wanting to use lots of AA, which is often the primary culprit for VRAM gobbling.
Disregard if you have 3 or 4 GB of VRAM on your card.
Says that the 7970 is required for high performance... I hope that the 8870 will be sufficient when it releases as that is the next card I am considering.
That said, I wish I could know at what resolution and what level of AA they consider optimal, as I generally don't max out AA and my monitor only supports a max rez of 1920x1080 which is fine by my by the way. Regardless, I'll be getting this game.
Only bad thing about dx11 only is it will end up hurting PC sales due to older cards still being used by many (probably the majority actually). Granted I'm sure quite a few people will end up buying it anyways and then complain they can't play it due to their video card (which sucks for them but is why you read requirements).
Personally I'm looking forward to it and dx11 cards have been around for years--time to upgrade finally for some people (don't have to go top of the line for dx11 alone).
Looks like it should run on my PC in max settings. It has a GTX590 card in it and an i7-2600k. Also DX11 only, and PC-focused? I think Crytek is welcoming their original fanbase back with open arms.
Theoretically I'm set for High Performance with my rig. Hopefully we (gamers with similar investments) can maintain 60fps. Game is looking quite good over the relatively disappointing Crysis 2.
I'm pretty sure we won't have the delays and post-release DX11 and high res patch fiascoes from Crysis 2. I think Crytek flat out underestimated what an undertaking they had with their first big multiplatform CryEngine3 release, and the PC version was rushed. I also happened to have AMD cards at the time, which was a bit of a nightmare with tessellation turned on. I'm certainly not expecting a game that will be on par with System Shock 2 or the Half-Life games, but I'm pretty confident Crysis 3 will be an improvement over Crysis 2.
BTW, I certainly didn't hate Crysis 2, but it did get off to a pretty awful start and wasn't as impressive as the first game. Crytek has indicated that Crysis 3 will be more open than the second game, and I'm sure that it will be in much better technical shape.
How can it say the hi-performance processor recommended for AMD is the Bulldozer FX-4150? I've heard time and again how the older quad-core Phenom processors are more powerful at similar frequencies. Am I missing something here?
Well, my PC can probably run this on high-performance settings (only thing I'm not sure about is my AMD quad-core, and whether Crysis 3 is CPU-constrained or not).
Whatever the case may be, I'll be too busy playing Far Cry 3 to care about another (relatively) linear, sci-fi shooter. I don't care if the graphics are state-of-the-art and will melt your videocard.
I still can't run Crysis w/ HD add-on with my 560TI :(
Q6600 @ 3GHz
8GB RAM
GTX460 OC
'-'
my PC is ready to PoWN Crysis 3.
the q6600 is a quad cpu
the gtx460 a DX11 GPU
8gb of ram is more than enough for games.
if you think I'm wrong go tell that to logan at razethew0rld or linus from ncix. they will laugh at you.
It's capable of playing all games, but maxing them to ideal (1080 @ 60) or playable (30fps) with everything maxxed is a bit farfetched?
And seeing how your PC is somewhere between Minimum and Recommended it's hard to believe your PC is maxing anything.
So....yeaaaah
YIPEE
wait I forget crysis is suckish
Here i'm hoping my 670ftw rig can handle this maxed out, I'm sure as hell I won't be able to run it at 120fps though.

Loving Farcry 3 atm.
I would love a Dinosaur game using this engine.
Ok Crytek looks to have done some justice to Crysis 3 and added DX11 from the start and OMGosh it shows!
Looking pretty Crytek....hope the gameplay has the Sandbox feel to it again and they got a winner!

I just wanted to make sure you weren't spending a grand or so on GPUs only to run out of VRAM. Sounds like you'll be set.
but i doubt the console version could beat killzone3 or
even 2

I bet to you right now the "High" end rig will be outdated as soon as the game comes out, Happens all the time in the Computing world ;)
