"Could Be Like Halo & Gears" ....so, it's a shooter?
What do Halo and Gears really have in common, other than being shooters? One is a very horizontal game (Gears) and the other is a fairly vertical game. You make Gears any more like Halo in gameplay and it isn't Gears. You make Halo any more like Gears and it loses many of its gameplay strengths.
Sounds like NowGamer just trying to bolster their obvious choice of favorite for next gen (since it will have an "X" on it, most likely) by hyping with two popular titles, excusing it with a random Twitter post.
Exactly. Seems developers aren't capable of unique ideas anymore, so they just slap together something that seems to be a trend. Instead of coming up with their own unique ideas, they're just trying to combine two things which wouldn't work too well together to cash out easily.
Nowgamer got that idea from a "twitter sleuth"; and being very.....eh, "oriented" towards a certain brand....they'll gladly spread the rumor to create hype.
ON THE PLAYSTATION 3 Journey,Uncharted,Heavy Rain,Beyond Two Souls,The last of Us(a 2nd NEW AAAAAA IP from ONE developer),the unfinished swan and a lot more...
BUT WHAT DO "GAMERS" aka shitheads of this gen buy?CALL OF DUTY AND COPY+PASTE Garbage in general cause the justin Biebers took over.
The "unique" games you mention aren't as unique as you say.
Journey - third person puzzle game.
Uncharted - third person explore/shoot 'em up.
Heavy Rain - this gens version of the point and click adventure game.
The Last Of Us - another third person game with an AI partner.
All great games but nothing new, just spruced up versions of games from the past. Not too sure about Beyond and Unfinished Swan.
Uncharted might have exciting, spectacular set-peices but it's still a third person game with bells on.
Journey might have drop in/out co-op but it's still a third person puzzle game.
Let's face it, original ideas are few and far between these days.
I love how small a percentage of N4G Commentors read articles prior to commenting on them.
1) The Gears and Halo similarity is in regards to scale and genre. In regards to gameplay Gears and Halo hold massive differentiations. 2) This is by no means a confirmation of the unannounced games genre as this particular quote was taken from an "Internet sleuth".
I understand Halo but what did Gears do, it pretty much had things that were done before like the over the shoulder gameplay from RE4 or even had things which during it's development at the time other games like Uncharted which was in development longer then Gears. already had the same ideas.
Gears was still a huge success that further put gaming in the spotlight and became a staple/household name.
All games have ideas from others it doesn't mean they're bad or shouldn't be recognized. There were games before Uncharted that that did the same thing too. That arguement could be applied to almost any game.
Just because someting is shown off and released first dosen't mean anything
As I said Uncharted was in development longer, Nolan North since he had played the character since 2005 when they brought him in to do the motion capturing, then they would of had to start planning it before they got to that development stage.
They started Uncharted under the codename "Big" straight after Jak 3 was finished and went gold. So that would of been October/November 2004
Uncharted was in development for longer and didn't release untill later because ND had to do the motion capturing which apparently took nearly a year to complete and thats just the mo cap.
@SephirothX21
What...when did I say they that. Please don't make crap up to try and start an argument.

Yeah but they didn't do motion capturing did they.
"And what does Uncharted being in development longer have anything to do with what Gears brought to the table? Nothing."
because people keep saying "Oh Uncharted copied Gears" all the time even though Gears wasn't shown off when Uncharted was 2/3 years into development. If it wasn't shown off then it couldn't of coped, people make out because Gears was released first that they didn't copy anyone despite Killswitch being a massive infuencea and RE4

"and sony puts out WAYYY MORE SHOOTERS than MS"
Are you serious...
Sony puts out more of everything...racing, platforming, third person shooters, RPGs, indie games etc. MS just does shooters
@Jinkies Wrong 1: Gears was already shown behind close doors to other developers before GDC 2005 - it was a selling point of the new unreal engine. And regardless of motion capture, ND didn't show any cover based gameplay until way after Gears introduced this mechanic. And it was identical - with the exact same cover to cover manouvers, something that was never shown before gears. You don't have to be such a fanboy: admitting that Uncharted copied the mechanics from gears 1to1 is practically admitting a fact. It doesn't make any less of a game.
Wrong 2: Sony makes more shooters, hack&slashers and platformers. MS makes more racers, RPGs and obviously more indie games (not to mention the indie channel alone on the X360 has more games than the entire PS catalog). If you don't count simply go to gamerankings.com and browse each platform by genre.
Hey, but that's pretty good trolling what you did here :) sidetracking the topic from the next-gen game a new studio is working on. For all I care, this gen can die and it's time to bring out the next gen, so that' really good news.
"Don't come off as an arse maniacmayhem, thats how you went from 5 bubbles to 3, remember that."
Funny how you know I had 5 bubbs even though your account was made this year in October. Which tells me this Jinkies must be a multiple account maybe from another that was banned or stuck at one.
You just remember that.
"because people keep saying "Oh Uncharted copied Gears" all the time even though Gears"
And nice edit after the fact that Klien stated it and who else says that Uncharted is a Gears clone and how is that even relevant to the topic of this article which you have still managed to not answer and continue to troll.
"uncharted was a copy of gears, without gears uncharted would not exist"
So Gears came out November 7, 2006. Uncharted 1 came out November 19, 2007 - a year later. You can't completely redesign your game and its gameplay to copy another game in the space of 12 months. Since Uncharted would've already been in the advanced stages of development with all its mechanics working as designed (after years of work following Jak 3), I don't think that's feasible. Though, even if they did copy Gears's cover mechanic, the games are fundamentally different in their design and gameplay elsewhere. So it's not exactly a strike against Uncharted or Naughty Dog. Nice try.
Killzone was a self-proclaimed foray into sci-fi from Sony's Guerrilla, going after the Halo gamer. No one is denying that, and it's well documented. I do like Killzone's more grounded background and gamplay which added something valid to the sci-fi shooter genre.
Resistance 1-3 is INSOMNIAC GAMES, not Sony.
All-Stars (and LittleBigPlanet Karting to some extent) is the game that Sony fans were actually asking for for quite some time, so your point as some sort of downside to Sony's developmental stirring pot is irrelevant. Gamers wanted it based on existing Nintendo games that they knew were good. They wanted it, they asked for it, they got it.
PlayStation Move was in development as early as 2000 with videos of proof out there on YouTube. Now I'm not saying Nintendo weren't also working on Wii as far back as that, but we have proof that Sony were working on motion tech before Nintendo announced anything of a Wii-mote controlled technlogy in development. This is just some more misinformation that you guys love spreading. We tell you the facts and now I'm convinced that you're just ignoring it to troll.
Sony creates way more shooters, just like with most genres by comparison to Microsoft, because they have more studios making games. Now that's common sense. When it comes to shooters, Killzone 2 is more highly rated than Halo 4. It's rated that same as Halo Reach. KZ3 is rated lower than Halo 4, but not much lower. Halo 3: ODST is rated lower than KZ3. I don't like using aggregated sites like Metacritic, but make of those stats what you will.
Sony's shooters are varied when compared in terms of background, story and gameplay. And they did put guns in inFamous, but it was the enemies using them. Cole doesn't need guns because he had fuggin lightning coming out of his hands. Idiot.
----------------------- @ humbleopinion
I don't think Microsoft MAKES more racers, RPGs or indie games. They have and always have had third party companies making games exclusively for them, but not making themselves. Perhaps racers because of Forza and what was Project Gotham some years ago, but that's it. -------------
I know this is ridiculously off topic, but just clearing things up.
"Don't come off as an arse maniacmayhem, thats how you went from 5 bubbles to 3, remember that."
Actually no, he went down to 3 bubbles because in this site your opinion must always be that Sony is Godlike and anything else just suck and is inferior and if you dont agree be ready for the horde of disagrees that awaits you, the bubble system is broken you can't let a horde of sony fanboys control your opinions because you dont agree with them i rarely post here because of that and i have 2 bubbles lol ready for one after this post.
Has for the topic i think Gears did alot for this gen lets face it Uncharted one was a ripoff from a lot of series especially tomb raider but it has things from gears, even tho gears was that great i like it alot and MS should stick making them.
Actually, Gears of War had been in development prior to Uncharted's. Gears of War started development shortly after the release of the original Unreal Tournament back in 1999. It was originally titled "Unreal Warfare" and was intended to be a large multiplayer title. Development was delayed and following the release of Unreal Tournament 2004, the titles development was resumed, taking on the new identity of Gears of War.
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was in development following the release of Jak 3, of which released at the tail end of 2004, development hasn't begun of the game until the technical staff had been assembled, presumably making the starting date early 2005.
The same way they claim that "you can't say anything negative about Sony," that's also true in this, a Microsoft-themed article. No way would they let you see anything resembling "correctness" while you weren't kissing Microsoft's rear.
Neither Uncharted and Gears are original or creative. They both copied concepts and gameplay mechanics from other games so who gives a shit about wich one came 1st? You know what came 1st? Killswitch, RE4, Pitfall, MGS, PoP etc etc. Those are the games that really pushed the bounderies and moved gaming forward and those are the games that ND and Epic copied. LMAO arguing about wich copy came 1st!
BTW @ humbleopinion Indie games made by MS? Really? Indie games? REALLY?!!
gears was a rip off killswitch a ps2 title to the new kids who started this gen go check this game....gears brought some stupid aliens, zero story and 4 steroids typical americans marines, nothing that innovated the genre, moving on
To all of you, who cares what came first, uncharted is ten times better than gears of war. Part one two and three, the awards speak for themselves. Anyone who says gears is better hasn't played uncharted. Plat-former/shooter/cinematic/ great writing/great voice acting. Gears just sit there and shoot. And i play all games own ever console including the wii u. So suck on that!
Uncharted 1&2 were great, but 3 was a letdown. Campaign and multiplayer bigtime letdown. If they just kept part 2's multiplayer the same and fixed the disconnects and added sprint it also would have been great,...but they chose to copy call of duty,...plus the graphics and textures looked not as good as the first two games,...i think maybe adding 3-d had something to do with that, because killzone 3 also did looked dummied down compared to the previous installment.
I dont know why you guys take these comments so seriously. Its not like you designed the games. You would think someone was dissin your mother.
Gears 1 had better graphics then part 2,...but part 3 was fixed nicely.
God of war was tight.
Halo was a "B" or "B+" maybe.
Resistance series was average although part 3 looked good.
Both infamous games were awesome.
Lesson of the day...both consoles got good games, competition is good for both sides, don't be a slave to a brand,...because quite possibly apple, samsung, valve, can come along and knock their dicks in the dirt. Every dog has its day.
The gears of war franchise is overall higher rated then the Uncharted franchise stated by the industry.
The gears of war franchise has sold more then the Uncharted franchise as voted by the gaming community.
I own both franchises and I prefer the gears franchise over the uncharted franchise....
If you enjoy the uncharted franchise over the gears franchise then that is simply your preference....but your opinion is far from fact and clearly you don't speak for the gaming community since reviewers and gamers have voted and they chose the gears of war franchise
Level up gamer you are smoking crack. Uncharted has won ten times the awards gears has, and no you are flat out wrong, gears is not rated higher then the uncharted series. Go a head and flat out lie, whatever helps you sleep at night/. 88 to 91 gears. 96 to 91 uncharted 2, 94 to 91 uncharted 3. You do the math smart guy. And these are the metitcritic scores. Not to mention everyone knows uncharted two has won more awards then any game in one year ever!!!!!!
The Gears of War franchise has an average score of 92.67. The Uncharted franchise has an average score of 92 precisely. (89 including Golden Abyss)
If you prefer the Uncharted franchise, that is perfectly acceptable, but don't attempt to belittle the fantastic quality of the Gears of War franchise.
actually is opposite for me what has halo done that it hasnt done in the other games gears was awesome when it first came out and thats mostly what everyone played on xbox live
Cover mechanics. From a third person shooting game released in 1999.
So, tell me. What's this discussion really about? What does Uncharted and Gears have in common, besides both being third person shooters with cover mechanics?
Nothing. They're as different as two games can be being in the same genre.
More exclusives to bolster Microsoft's first party line-up is only a good thing in my opinion. They seem to be relying a bit too heavily on Halo, Gears of War and Forza, so something to add to that and provide an incentive to invest in their next generation console would do them well I think, especially since many people have doubts given their heavy focus on Kinect.
Its one thing to be on top of the industry, its another thing to actually stay on top. Congrats Microsoft, looks like the future is as important as the present.
The only thing that ms has on other gaming company or system is a great Eco-system with xbl but it's going downhill with all the ads all over the place. They need to start refocusing and no they are not "on top" not even close.
Please check the 2012 best sellers in video games on Amazon.com
1st: 1600 MS Points (digital) 5th: 12 months of XBL Gold (digital) 5th: 12 months of XBL Gold 17th: 3 months of XBL Gold (digital) 49th: 3 months of XBL Gold 75th: 800 MS Points (digital) 77th: 1600 MS Points
So the best selling video game item is money to spend on XBL. XBL Gold for 12 months is probably second, given the split between digital and non-digital.
When did the guy attacked XBL? He said that XBL was healthy. He did not say it was bad or in danger.
By the way, You do know that Amazon.com = USA. Of course the sales are going to be astronomical, but what about Amazon in the Europes, Japan, etc?
_____________________________ ________
Regarding the REAL topic, I always thought that maybe they can do a crossover between Halo and Gears. I do not like Halo at all and I think Gears is great, but I have not played any of them (not an xbox user) so I don't know if the stories are "open" enough for something like that, but maybe fans will go crazy with a crossover like that. Marcus Fenix meets Master Chief.
they're going downhill because of the ads on the dashboard??
How does that make any sense? The majority of those ads are for games anyways, while other ones are for movies, music, etc., things that actually get me interested in them to check it out.
By that definition, should tv be going downhill because of all the ads on it??
I can tell you what they don't have in common....creativity, ND is bursting with it since they like to try new things, MS on the other hand don't and this article proves it.
Why not make a Platformerr, RPG, RTS, Open world game instead.
I think you can make a better list than that, because that was awful in regards to new IPs. Two of those are not new Ips, one of them is an XBLA title, most of them are third party, one of them is not even exclusive.
Meanwhile, inFamous, Uncharted, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, Motorstorm are all major franchises that have spawned several sequels and performed well on the shelves as well as with the critics.
Then you have things like ModNation, MAG, Journey, The Unfinished Swan that would all be more suited in the company of your list. Also, new IPs are still coming out for the PS3 (Beyond, Last of Us, Last Guardian). While they pretty much ended in 2008 for Xbox. (Even though Gears was really the major one this gen)
Not hating on MS though, I'd like to see Nintendo back to its former "a new IP each day" glory too.
@360ICE actually @maniacmayhem was responding to the other poster saying Naughty Dog was this creative genius studio on the PS3 compared to what MS has created on the 360...not a fulll comparison of PS3 vs 360 IP.
@Jinkies... MS has made all of the game genres you suggested this generation...and more. Why not ask Naughty Dog to make something other than a 3rd person cover shooter this generation?
You do realize that the developers for the Microsoft games you are bashing are third party don't you? Microsoft is in charge of Halo, that's pretty much it. It has plenty of those genres you mentioned made by third party developers. You are a massive fanboy.
You blow my mind... You clearly have no idea the breath of IPs that MS owns... just on creative side... how about Viva Pinata... Kodu and ilomilo... you don't need to go big to create something awesome... they also own huge franchises that I'd like to see make a come back this coming generations... Black and White... Age of Empires/Mythology, Lost Odyssey, MechAssult/MechCommander, Phantom Dust, Sudeki, True Fantasy Live Online oooh and PGR... where is our new PGR? And Voodoo Vince... I loved that game and WTF Killer Instinct please
Really glad they won't be supporting Kinect on their first title. I can't wait to see how it'll look on the next Xbox. Yeah, I think this http://www.gamespot.com/new... might be related to it.
I'd love them to do something new besides a shooter but more AAA shooters isn't necessarily a bad thing as it'll add something fresh to fight. Hopefully it won't be too much of the same though. I wonder if it'll be a FPS, TPS, or a space shooter more like Star Fox (which I doubt but would be cool to have a new flight game even if arcadey). Hopefully it'll have a mix of gameplay mechanics though as that's one of Halo's strong points IMO.
Many people (mostly fellow PC gamers) complained about Crysis 2's more linear approach and change of alien design but for all of that it was a solid shooter with some cool fights/aliens so I'm sort of interested in where Crysis 2'a lead designer might take it. From the looks I doubt we'll be seeing anything soon but am curious what they're working on.
I don't want another Halo or Gears! Too burned out on that stuff. I love my xbox but if next gen is more of the same crap I will be buying the PS4 only
It should Hopefully be a 360 and 720 title. Seeing how MS doesn't wanna abandon the the 360 right away.
MS should have a great line up of new Ips come next year with a push of AAA XBL and free 2 Play games, and the next Box emerging should be a great 2013 for Xbox overall.
EDIT: My little disagree and familiar Sony fanboys faces in here tells me one thing, well 2 things.
1.) You guys are Hypocrites, if Sony announced a brand new Studio that was gonna be as big as Killzone. This post would explode with comments showering Sony with praises. But nope not here that's fine lets downplay it. This could be the next game to sell almost as big as Halo and Gears.
2.)You guys are Liars. So MS opened up a F2P studio which focuses only one F2P experiences.
Vancouver Studio which making a new Ip. New Alan Wake in the future, Potential Fable 4, Cryteks Ryse and Rares rumored secret project, Bungies Destiny (Timed exclusive) But yet you guys still bash, whine and cry about MS?
"M$ has abandoned the hardcore, therefor I'm going with PS3." Ok that's fine. But, look at the list of potential games I listed, MS probably has more down the line I dunnno but as far as I'm concerned, these are hardcore titles that you guys scream. So what's the problem? Oh the problem is the ones who left Xbox for a PS3 for the hardcore 1st party titles aren't excited by this. That's fine, happy gaming on whatever console you own.
M$ doesn't want to abandon 360 right away? You forget they immediately dropped Xbox 1 support when 360 came out where as ps2 was still being developed for.
.....Seriously probably the stupidest response ever.
Xbox 1 didn't have NEARLY the install base like PS2. Devs eventually abandoned the Xbox, with certain 3rd party games Still making it on the platform (if lucky).
Thanks to Halo MS garnered enough success for a a brand new console, Xbox 360.
MS has 70million consoles out with multimillion selling exclusive games. 40+ million Live subscribers. And one of the most recognizable consoles in the world.
Why would MS pull the plug on that?
Save your comment if your gonna have stupid replies.
Your comment wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have a fanboy status.
They really need to use Rare to make a proper game instead of Kinect crap. Iv'e read about so many games by Rare that sounded awesome and were cancelled by Microsoft. I don't understand why they won't let Rare make games that people actually want. Killer Instinct 3 could be a great exclusive for them.
- developing too much shooters! - Focusing on Kinect / Casual games! - Relying on 3rd party games! - Focusing on entertainment applications! - exclusive DLC! - pushing digital distribution of games and movies!
at the same time.
All this tells me, that MS is doing an outstanding job and the 360 is a hell of a console.
both are objectively very good games in almost every aspect (single and multiplayer, and overall value)
very few games this gen offer so much content and replay value, as proven by the thousands who still play Halo 3 and Gears of War 1 online...not to mention Halo 4 and Gears 3.
also, most reviewers and gamers consistently praise both franchises.
you have a right to your opinion, but I respecfully disagree with you.
Uhh I only have a 360 I just don't want another shooter there's no deep meaning or fanboy thing I just don't want another shooter. I love halo and gears buy em whenever a new ones out I just want something different I'm sure this will bean amazing game and I may get it .
MS is investing in another AAA shooter franchise and people are actually upset. I get that all these sequels got people jaded but think back at big a deal the original Gears and Halo was. How new and refreshing they were. And now MS believes they have a new franchise that can be on the level of HALO and GEARS.
People should really get excited about this. MS doesn't like having franchises that are similar to each other. That's one of the major reasons the cited for no buying Crytek. Gears was much different than Halo, and I expect this new IP to be much different than the previous two.
and the best part....it could be. NOBODY on this thread knows jack sh*t about this game other than the assumptions being made. And we all know what happens when we "ass u me".
Nice try though
Your wrong it goes three ways.
Hmm... That sounded so wrong...
....so, it's a shooter?

hmmm, so in your other comments, you praise TLOU which looks ALOT like UC, then come in and troll...
Good job.
i really hope MS takes advantage of crackdown franchise because that IP has a lot of room to grow and huge potential
* Give us more customization
* Give us more options
* Give us more replay value
* Give us Better Art Styles, and not just HD Brown & Grey graphics.
* Humans can see over 5 million different colors....Use Them !
* Give us good stories that aren't cliche.
* Give us something unexpected

Are you guys implying Gears invented the cover mechanic?
Are you the same people that say that Halo invented a lot of things of its own such as regen, driving cars, melee and grenade buttons?
Geezus
Wow! Okay, so let's begin:
"uncharted was a copy of gears, without gears uncharted would not exist"

Idiot.

@ humbleopinion
I don't think Microsoft MAKES more racers, RPGs or indie games. They have and always have had third party companies making games exclusively for them, but not making themselves. Perhaps racers because of Forza and what was Project Gotham some years ago, but that's it.

And regarding your point about Gears of War, I think it's safe to say, you have been well and truly schooled by manicmayhem and others.
The same way they claim that "you can't say anything negative about Sony," that's also true in this, a Microsoft-themed article. No way would they let you see anything resembling "correctness" while you weren't kissing Microsoft's rear.
Simply put, they're not gonna hear it.
BTW @ humbleopinion Indie games made by MS? Really? Indie games? REALLY?!!
to the new kids who started this gen go check this game....gears brought some stupid aliens, zero story and 4 steroids typical americans marines, nothing that innovated the genre, moving on
I dont know why you guys take these comments so seriously.
Take the pebble from my hand grasshopper!
The Uncharted franchise has an average score of 92 precisely. (89 including Golden Abyss)
If you prefer the Uncharted franchise, that is perfectly acceptable, but don't attempt to belittle the fantastic quality of the Gears of War franchise.
what has halo done that it hasnt done in the other games
gears was awesome when it first came out and thats mostly what everyone played on xbox live

Cover mechanics. From a third person shooting game released in 1999.
So, tell me. What's this discussion really about? What does Uncharted and Gears have in common, besides both being third person shooters with cover mechanics?
Nothing. They're as different as two games can be being in the same genre.
>_>
+ helpful.
The only thing that ms has on other gaming company or system is a great Eco-system with xbl but it's going downhill with all the ads all over the place. They need to start refocusing and no they are not "on top" not even close.
http://majornelson.com/2012...
Please check the 2012 best sellers in video games on Amazon.com
1st: 1600 MS Points (digital)
5th: 12 months of XBL Gold (digital)
5th: 12 months of XBL Gold
17th: 3 months of XBL Gold (digital)
49th: 3 months of XBL Gold
75th: 800 MS Points (digital)
77th: 1600 MS Points
So the best selling video game item is money to spend on XBL. XBL Gold for 12 months is probably second, given the split between digital and non-digital.
http://www.amazon.com/best-...
MS just announced that never before people spent more time on XBL in the past weeks than ever before!
http://venturebeat.com/2012...
So stop spreading nonsense. XBL is healthier than ever before.
By the way, You do know that Amazon.com = USA. Of course the sales are going to be astronomical, but what about Amazon in the Europes, Japan, etc?

Regarding the REAL topic, I always thought that maybe they can do a crossover between Halo and Gears. I do not like Halo at all and I think Gears is great, but I have not played any of them (not an xbox user) so I don't know if the stories are "open" enough for something like that, but maybe fans will go crazy with a crossover like that. Marcus Fenix meets Master Chief.
How does that make any sense? The majority of those ads are for games anyways, while other ones are for movies, music, etc., things that actually get me interested in them to check it out.
By that definition, should tv be going downhill because of all the ads on it??
One major franchise per console generation...
BUT, that's about to change.
The Last of Us is coming out for PS3.
Please step up the new IP game, MS.
Why not make a Platformerr, RPG, RTS, Open world game instead.
RPG? Well MS has Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon and many other third party rpg's that are exclusive (Magna Carta, etc.) and third party.
RTS? Well the only MS made one is Halo:Wars but there are others made by third parties for the 360.
Open World? Crackdown 1 and 2 is the only ones that that come to mind and maybe Nuts and Bolts.
And ND bursting with creativity? Besides Uncharted what else have they done for Ps3?
@maniacmayhem
@Jinkies... MS has made all of the game genres you suggested this generation...and more. Why not ask Naughty Dog to make something other than a 3rd person cover shooter this generation?
Yeah, I think this http://www.gamespot.com/new... might be related to it.
New Alan Wake in the future, Potential Fable 4, Cryteks Ryse and Rares rumored secret project, Bungies Destiny (Timed exclusive)
But yet you guys still bash, whine and cry about MS?
"M$ has abandoned the hardcore, therefor I'm going with PS3." Ok that's fine. But, look at the list of potential games I listed, MS probably has more down the line I dunnno but as far as I'm concerned, these are hardcore titles that you guys scream. So what's the problem? Oh the problem is the ones who left Xbox for a PS3 for the hardcore 1st party titles aren't excited by this. That's fine, happy gaming on whatever console you own.
"M$" please...
Motorola RAZR i
Iv'e read about so many games by Rare that sounded awesome and were cancelled by Microsoft.
Extremely over rated you mean?
both are objectively very good games in almost every aspect (single and multiplayer, and overall value)
very few games this gen offer so much content and replay value, as proven by the thousands who still play Halo 3 and Gears of War 1 online...not to mention Halo 4 and Gears 3.
also, most reviewers and gamers consistently praise both franchises.
you have a right to your opinion, but I respecfully disagree with you.
Also let's not get into the all the imitations that followed Gears.
"Next-Gen Sony Exclusive Hinted, Could Be Like Uncharted & Killzone"
all the N4G-Sony-Kiddies would freak out.
But this way its just "Microsoft. Lol." "Halo & Gears is overrated", "Im bored of shooters"
and not to forget the millions of agrees of this comments.
People here really make me sad.
Hate is all they got.
People should really get excited about this. MS doesn't like having franchises that are similar to each other. That's one of the major reasons the cited for no buying Crytek. Gears was much different than Halo, and I expect this new IP to be much different than the previous two.
I don't think there's any more room for other Xbox exclusive FPS games when we have Halo.
The way the dev kits are going out i'm thinking we might hear from both early next year.
Like 1st/2nd quarter early.
Not.
