I wonder how many surfaces MS sold? It's been almost a month and we don't have any numbers.

I went to Best Buy to get one and to my surprise they dont carry them.

I ended up buying a IPad the next day from Target.

I will still buy one one day just not soon.

On a side note I am loving smartglass.

I think Win 8 convertibles are the hot item for next year. The surface will also do great. M$ is going to hurt iPad sales for sure. I have Win8 on my desktop, and it just screams "Touch Screen!!!". I am waiting on a convertible as my next purchase early next year and a Xbox 720 next November. M$ looks to be on the move again.

Those are really impressive numbers when you consider the Xbox 360 turns 7 years old this holiday season.

I saw an interesting article about it.

http://news.cnet.com/8301-9...

"Three-month subscription sales for network during Nov. 18 to Nov. 23 nearly doubled last year's sales."

The increase was in part triggered by console owners tapping into entertainment applications. Hryb wrote that there was a 43 percent increase in entertainment application hours on Xbox Live from last year.
This is just the fat icing on the cake for the XBox 360, which has enjoyed the top spot among gaming consoles for more than a year

"We saw incredible activity on Xbox over the weekend," Hryb wrote in his blog. "For example, on Sunday alone we had more than 14 million people on Xbox Live across the world, racking up more than 72 million hours of use in just one day."

So for all the articles claiming people hate Xbox Live, or that its "dead" or a "rip-off", I would present this as evidence against that. Its obviously a rising medium, and the entertainment packages now being included with Xbox Live Gold is clearly attracting more than just gamers. In this business you have to be able to evolve and appeal to a wide variety of people.

Congrats to Microsoft on another great Black Friday! I know I picked up two of those Skylanders/360 bundles on Black Friday to give as gifts.

14m people logged into Xbox Live WW on Sunday
That should tell the whole Story.

Xbox Live is a Beast, for comparison Lol the most played online game has 11m people every month, Live had 14m on Sunday alone.

Xbox 360 holiday bundle is a good deal, comes with Skyrim and Forza plus a month of live, 250gb HDD and a headset. Considering that it was going for $199 on black friday it is really no surprise they saw huge increase in sales.

Way better deal than the $300 - $350 dollar Wii-U which is not even at the same level technically with either the 360 or PS3.

Halo 4 & black ops 2......
I don't care for xbox 360, but halo 4 is only the 2 game to get me to buy a platform. (Uncharted for ps3, Max Payne & Arma 2 gaming pc, and mario 64 for N64)

Numbers are down a bit from last years but those are still impressive. Xbox360 has taken over the U.S.
Deku-Johnny  +   660d ago
The numbers don't really say anything about whether people would rather have a 360 or a Wii U. There were 400,000 Wii U consoles available in the US during the time specified. Nintendo shifted all of those systems. There were probably millions of 360s available so in terms of percentage of stock sold the Wii U probably outdid the 360. I have no doubt had there been 750,000 Wii U consoles available they would all have been sold.

With all these consoles they got moving out and about... creating all this cash flow for MS... I wish it showed in more NEW IPS and franchises... cause the system has nothing to get excited about anymore...

Microsoft doesn't need to release multiple titles every year. They just need to release something with "Halo" stamped on it and people will buy another console. It's mildly depressing, considering Sony puts time, effort, and money into TONS of first-party titles every year.

As a Microsoft stock holder, however, I'm glad people are complete morons.

-So what did Sony PUT out this year???

Microsoft had people in the stores yelling "Where is the XBOX 360, XXX game for XBOX, ...blah blah XBOX" etc. I saw it on video on youtube. This probably brainwashed lots of sheep and im not surprised of their big sells numbers.

NO da it was black friday, why the bleep do they always announced there sales they need to stop showing off.
DiRtY  +   660d ago
Awesome sales. So that easily puts them at 900k for one week.

And for the XBL is a ripoff nonsense: XBL subscriptions were up 50% YoY.
talisker  +   660d ago
Great news! That's a lot of money Microsoft will surely put towards new exclusive content for their gamers!

Oh, wait...
