This was the first Call of Duty I haven't purchased on release in years.
I've been hesitant due to the releases over the past few years.
I don't play CoD for multiplayer, as I feel there are other games that have better FPS mp offerings. I prefer the Battlefield type, having large open areas with vehicles and whatnot, and If I want more CQ action i'll play something like Halo.
I always played CoD for the campaign. Over time, I've personally felt that the campaign has played second fiddle to the multiplayer.
CoD isn't the only franchise to do this, a lot of titles are now focusing on mp content over singleplayer.
With so many other great games out, as well as coming out, I think I might give this a miss until it's cheaper down the line.
I do find it dissapointing that more and more focus is being shifted away from the singleplayer, and I did expect that Blops2 to be the same. However, after having played I honestly think that they put more effort into the singleplayer this time around. It's actually quite well done. It's actually quite open ended. The story might not branch to an extent like Mass Effect, but it's pretty close to Indigo Prophecy, which is saying a lot for a CoD game. I know it's hard to imagine but it's true.
I'm glad this one is good.
But the multi, and especially the fact it (unlike Medal of Honor) has local multi with so many options and bots, makes this a must buy.

Horde mode in Gears has shown the local co-op and bots are a good idea, and I'm glad the COD series has taken on board.
