After Far Cry 2, i didn't exactly walk away with huge admiration for the franchise so i kept my nose out of this one.

Upon actually looking at gameplay, reading previews and reviews and picking up on all the snippets of info coming out, i can proudly say i was wrong to doubt it!

Far Cry 3 has gone from off the radar to top of my most wanted list and cannot wait to pick this up now! =D

I reallllly want to completely throw my life away and just make maps with this editor. Looks pretty versatile considering the (I'm guessing) user-friendliness of it.

I used to love making hl2 maps but it took every drop of my 25 IQ to figure out that editor.

"Mappers/modders will not be able to experiment with AI (well that is if they want to release their MP maps). A.I. is said to be for playing around and having fun on your own. You can not place A.I. in multiplayer maps, and it is not designed as a single player mission creator either. This will be a big problem for console owners as players who ran maps that violate that rule could get banned."

Can someone explain this to me.

It makes it sound like you CAN make SP maps with AI, but youre not allowed to publish them.

Anyone know if that is the case because I'd love to make my own SP levels and dont care about publishing them.

Why should MP gamers only be allowed to use the map editor?

AI is not allowed in both SP and MP maps that get released via the Level Editor (or that's the word for the time being. Might change until it gets out). This means that if you're a mapper, you can experiment with the AI but you are not allowed to release the map with AI enabled.

It may not have all the scripting necessary for creating "levels" so to speak, but you can still create basic single-player challenge maps for yourself.

It should be a fun feature to mess around with even if we can't publish them onlne (yet). Personally, I wish more games with level editors allowed us to throw in enemy AIs. I would love to see something like in in Halo's forge, for instance.

Yeah, I dont care if you cant publish. I just want to play it myself. Make some terrain, add some items and then just plonk random soldiers in.

Should be great fun, I loved Timesplitters 2.

Dude everything that was shown will be available for multiplayer or else it wouldn't make sense being there in the first place would it.

The writing is misleading you can put AI in multiplayer maps but there´s obvious limitations like Far Cry 1 and 2 did.

Biggest barrier ive seen on the console is the precentage bar up on the top left of the screen before he was finished there he had already used 43% of what he could have used.

Thats an issue for me tbh like most console map editors you really get harnessed in with what you can do. I hope they don't limit the PC version this way.

Don't get me wrong that not a game breaker and would not take away from me buying the game. But seriously today we have bigger HDs on console.

My PS3 has a terabyte and my xbox has a big HD aswell i have space to work with. Why can't they make these map editors more expansive on console?.

This always was like this since the 1st far cry game console limitations will always be around.

Nonetheless is still pretty dam amazing and you can do in this one on consoles.

Kinda pointless if you can't share the maps with your friends. What's the point of making a map for only you to play...
