If you are an early adopter then of course there is going to be hiccups. These problems aren't the first time in a console history that problems have shown up when 100's of thousands of people buy a console.

The fixes should be sorted by the time it launches in Europe and definitely will be fixed when the console finally hits Japan.

I'm sorry this is the best console out now. The up side is scary, if only you guys knew what was good on the wii... Right now I got a ton of games to play since I waited on most of them. Yet I'm most excited about this years coming E3.

The only thing that limits a consoles life is content not tech. People still play games from 2001 q3a for example!

Lots of wii owners skipped the hd console since they aren't really hd. It's a scary time to be a ps or Xbox fan since there are so many unknowns.

The simple fact that kid icuras was suppose to be a console game is really cool. Really looking forward what is coming.

This is what happens when you turn your back on the hardcore. Take note MS.
Y_5150  +   639d ago
Am I not a "the hardcore" If I loved the games that Nintendo had for the Wii? Please.
ylwzx3  +   639d ago
MS is going to turn their back and its pretty obvious.

You are not "hardcore"!

"This is what happens when you turn your back on the hardcore. Take note MS."

Yet MS just released Halo 4 while Sony released a casual mediocre Smash Bros clone.

You = fail
Hicken  +   638d ago
So, first YOU "fail" by naming one game (Halo 4) as if that's some serious indicator of Microsoft's continued dedication to the core. Hint: it's not.

Second, you "fail" by assuming PSAS is casual OR mediocre. I know it's an assumption because you don't play Sony games since you don't have Sony systems.

You further "fail" by calling it a clone, since it really only bears a passing resemblance to SSB. Of course, that doesn't matter to you, because your point is to troll Sony whenever you possibly can.

Ultimately, you "fail" at that, too.

What hardcore? If anything, the industry is returning to its pick-up-and-play roots. The days when a person didn't have to be some antisocial shut-in (read: gamer) to enjoy video games.

WiiU will recover as soon as they launch the 2nd Generation of games that utilize the system more!

(Price Drop will also Help)
Griffin4871  +   639d ago
Price drop? You're not serious, are you? Wii U is being sold at a loss, and it certainly isn't "expensive". Reducing prices on everything doesn't solve the problem.

Well, for Sony it could. :P
BrianG  +   638d ago
Nintendo said that after one game purchase they are making a profit. Hardly a significant loss.
dennett316  +   639d ago
Really? People are talking about IF it can recover after less than a week? Fucking hell, they at least gave the Vita 6 months.

It's had the same little niggles that EVERY console suffers at launch. Why is it with Nintendo machines there's always an attitude of doom and gloom? The DS was supposed to be a flop and look what happened, the Wii was supposed to be a flop and look what happened - sold 20 million consoles more than it's nearest rival and a couple of hundred million more games.

Do people not get it yet? Never write them off, especially not when they can make a profit off the Wii U after selling only 1 first party game. They have listened to gamers for the most part and are trying to give them what they want. Are they doing it perfectly? Of course not, but we're nearly 8 years into this generation and Sony and MS are STILL not doing things perfectly either.

Sites have been claiming Vita was dead prior to it even releasing and it has been non-stop ever since.

Maybe Ninty are getting these articles because of their success with the Wii as Sony received them due to their success of the PS2?

I actually don't recall sites saying Vita would be a failure before it even launched. Actually I recall most sites praising the device saying it would succeed. I don't think anyone could've predicted it would be doing as badly as it's doing in Japan at the moment. Here's hoping things pick up for it though as I do plan to pick up one next year after a price drop. It'll go quite nicely with my 3DS.

BY SACRIFICING YOSHIS TO THE GODS!

(sorry, but a stupid article deserves a stupid answer - the console isn't even a week old yet and isn't available to the vast majority of us)

Let's be honest here, has ANY console had a good launch lately?
deafdani  +   639d ago
Yes, the Wii U. :D

It's having some issues now, but nothing really serious. All of these issues are being blown waaaaaaay out of proportion.

For the most part, it's a pretty solid console with a pretty solid launch lineup, and most of the issues it's having will be patched sooner or later.

Nerdmaster  +   639d ago
If Microsoft recovered from the 3 red lights fiasco, and 30% of its consoles breaking down, I think Nintendo will be OK.
strigoi814  +   638d ago
it will,, just release another mario game..
ShaunCameron  +   638d ago
Wait until 2013? There are things to look forward to for the Wii U.
